FWIW - I think BW or Heidelberg should've gotten an at large

I would have agreed if BW would have beaten JCU, but they certainly don't deserve a bid over teams like UW River Falls or Hardins Simmons who were also left home

Dr. Acula

Just looking at standings and results for the NRFP ballot this week.  Musky beats every team they should have and quietly finishes up at 5-5 with a win over ONU.  They finished ahead of both ONU and Etta.  I would have lost a lot of money on that bet preseason.

I believe the 2 active leading career rushers in D3 meet up this weekend, with Petruccelli #1 and W&L's Josh Breece #2. I believe they are #2 and #5 in active player career rushing yards among all NCAA divisions. Trying to remember from W&L's last game notes but too lazy to go look them up.

And FY Breece in the 2017 losing effort... 32 for 169...

Wish I could be there this weekend--instead I'm going to NYC to visit my daughter and her fiancee--and to see a couple of shows!  Go Raiders!

I hope your daughter doesn't read this board!  ;)

Note on W&L from the ODAC board:

"No punter or kicker yesterday due to injuries. Another 2 linemen down. Back up qb who is now starting dinged. Brutal"

Nof having a punter could weirdly  be an advantage for W&L since it'll force them to gofor it on every 4th down. Which is statistically smarter than punting as often as most teams do.

If I were an outmatched playoff opponent against Mount I'd never punt and probably try an onside kick, anything to get an extra possession.

Agreed.  I can't believe that more teams don't try this against Mount who are overmatched. I saw a local HS game a couple of years ago where the teams were closely matched,  but one knew they couldn't stop the others offense.  They tried a variety of inside kicks every kickoff and they got 2 of them.  It was the difference in the game.

Apples and oranges I'm afraid.  I think giving Mount a short field all day could turn a 56-0 game into a 91-0 game. I'm not sure many coaches want to do that to their players or their program.

Yeah. In the 2017 game, 14 of UMU's 21 points were scored on short fields in the first quarter. The monsoon kept that game from being more ugly, but giving UMU 30 or 40 yards for 7 points isn't really a good option. To be fair, if you are really outmatched, giving 90 yards for 7 points isn't going to matter much either of course.

Unfortunately we always head to my in-laws in south FL the week of Thanksgiving. I'd love to shake hands, but I doubt I'll ever make a playoff game.

The Words "unfortunately" and "south FL" really don't belong in the same sentence. Especially in November!  ;)

Quotelooking at the bracket for Mount; it was a pretty good draw.

Nothing new under the sun.
