The D3 Braintrust are all picking NCC:

Keith:   42-20
Ryan:   31-24
Pat:      41-27
Adam:  31-27
Frank:  37-24
Greg:   38-20

2 to 3 score difference is what I'm expecting too.  Not saying Mount can't win, but it would be a shock.

Maybe NC will read all the press on their 2-3 score win with over an under matched Mount Union, that is mistake prone.
IMHO, the game could be closer than most expect. Weather could be a factor, but I think the Raiders playing at home
bring their pride to the game. Other than Wheaton, just who has NC played that is much better than, B-W, JCU, Hopkins,
Muhlenburg?

Not with a 7-3 record and giving up 27 points per game, just saying....

We won't get the chance to see, but there's a nonzero chance UMU would be 7-3 against the same schedule.  It's not like UWL was out there playing patty cake with 4-6 ONU.

UWL lost their games against the two teams who met in the last Stagg Bowl and a D2 powerhouse.

would you call the Platteville game playing patty cake?  is making the playoffs b/c the opposing QB takes a knee instead of spiking the ball patty cake?

I am not sure I get the "who has (insert team here) that is better than (insert opponent here) argument". UMHB had a pretty weak SOS and had only played one decent team yet here we are in the Semi's.

There is one team NCC has played that is relevant....Mt Union in 2019. Most of this NCC team was on that team. 18 returning starters to be exact. So it's not at all an unknown. That said, I do believe Mt Union will play closer than most predict and I wouldn't be surprised to see a Purple Raider Victory. There sure haven't been many losses in Alliance to mark as guideposts.

In fact UWL played GVSU (D2 powerhouse) closer than any of the d2 teams they'd played up to that point in the season.

I wonder if this is the first "quick hits" article where mount was unanimously picked to lose?

not sure, but the "experts" took an 0-fer for the last Mount-NCC game

I am surprised Keith picked the widest margin. I figured a couple others would have relished taking the opportunity to credibly pick the Raiders to lose by 3 scores. 4/6 did pick them to eat their worst loss since 2014, at least. To be fair, so did I (on the CCIW board). I might be moved into moving a few points here-and-there depending on what I had for lunch, but I still would pick Mount to use by double-digits (just 10 instead of 14).

I do not recall any previous Quick Hits where Mount has been unanimously picked to lose. If the Raiders manage to make the Braintrust 0-fer on Saturday, they would likely be picked to unanimously lose 2 weeks in a row, which I am comfortable saying has never happened.

I noticed in the UMU game notes they list Mt Union's place in the AFCA coaches poll with no mention of the D3.com poll. I take it this is in line with the long string of non support for D3.com? Is there another backstory there?

I thought Mount and D3.com had a little feud a while ago. I could be dead wrong, but it rings a bell.

Did they post a story that didn't sit well with the organization, was it?

I think you have the "non support" backwards

I believe QH unanimously picked UMHB to win the 2016 semifinal.
