Its not even the fact that we can't even enjoy the win because grown men want to belittle our program after we win. Looking for a reason for your teams shortcomings and trying to spin our wins as less than your victories. You all know there is bias in the NCAA for you northern folks and can't accept that it still won't help. You took a home game from NCC and still lost. You always have the easy path and still lose. Lose with some dignity and quit putting others down when they dont deserve that crap. UMHB won and if you think your team is better then call up the athletic office and schedule a game with them. Pretty sure your coach won't do that though.

Looks like the butt hurt is strong with Kira & Jaxon's Dad. Don't be too despondent about being replaced as the premier D3 football program in the nation. You had a great 20+ year run, and all good things must come to an end.

past 5 national champs

2015 - Mount
2016 - UMHB
2017 - Mount
2018 - UMHB
2019 - NCC
2021 - UMHB

we could go back further, but it won't really help your argument.  Congrats on the title, loved watching the Cru absolutely embarrass the one hit wonders from Chicago.  Mount Union is still the premier program, but UMHB are the current kings of D3.  Here's to meeting in the Stagg Bowl for the next 10 years or so
Corrected it for ya

Historically, yes, Mount Union is the standard. I'm talking about the present. We're witnessing a changing of the guard and some (not all) MU fans are just bitter that they're not the automatic Stagg Bowl winner, or even participant, that they think they're entitled to be.

Enjoy your past glory. I'll enjoy the present and future.

that would be more than 5.  Try taking off the other shoe.  2016 doesn't count, we all know that.

It counts in minds of MHB fans...and no where else. Most importantly the history books and NCAA record won't count it. They Only have their coach to blame for that.
Well, there's video proof that it happened, so the the NCAA and all the jealous runners-up can gaslight and pretend it didn't happen all they want, but facts are facts. 2016, 2018, and 2021 National Champs on the field. The proof:

Yup, proof the game illegally took place.
LOL, no.

Best team in 2016, proven on the field. Enough said

Oh, and 24-7.

I get defending your team and being proud. But arguing about National Titles against Mount and UWW fans is short sighted at best.

Go test drive an Outback and rethink your strategy.
I'm not comparing history, especially since we didn't even have a program until the late 90's. I'm pointing out the current reality to a couple of jealous MU fans (two UMHB national championships since their last), and a bitter UWW fan (three national championships since their last), as to who the premier program in D3 has been for the last half decade..... and counting.

I'm not on any other boards talking trash to any other fan bases because they're all showing class and giving credit where it's due. I just felt the need to bring some reality to the conversation on this board, where it appears a bunch of sour grapes are being ingested by a few.

Hey, as far as I'm concerned, UMHB was the National champ in 2016.
What's the problem?

Well that's because you've always been a class act who is willing to show humility and give credit where it's due. Some (certainly not all) of your MU brethren could stand to learn from your example.

I didn't take anything from NCC. The NCAA took the home game from the Cardinals.

I'm sorry that my posts hurt your feelings.

Living in the area, I saw nothing touting the game. The marketing plan was that there seemed to be none.  IMO the game needs to go back to Salem, where it seemed appreciated and decently supported.
I may be old fashioned, however, throwing to the end zone with under two minutes and leading by four TD's was the worst sportsmanship imaginable.  The MHB head coach has always appeared, to me,  a classless dolt, and tonight he proved it to many.  No respect for a leader of this nature.
That being said, MHB was superior on the field. Speed and talent overflowing.

Then you don't really know him. Redding is a career backup who has served his time infinitely. To give a kid, not on scholarship, the chance to score on the national stage, is what it's all about. NCC was good enough to try and stop him.

Wait, your other players are "on scholarship?"

Is that UMHB secret code for Driving coach's Subaru?

Actually your feelings must have been hurt because MU wasn't in the game so you took it as a chance to bad mouth MHB. Reading a post from you is laughable because you show how little you know about football. Obviously you are one of those fans.

Nah I'm good. I also do know little to nothing about football because I'm not from TX.

Only tobacco chewing, Subaru driving, fans from TX are knowledgeable about the sport.

Shouldn't you be out recruiting SMU Transfers and JuCo graduates?

Ouch. ^

Actually with state championships this weekend, i bet if you were to poll most of them,  self proclaimed, non tobacco, truck driving fans in Texas (fixed it for you), you would see that very few of them have a clue about D3 programs. It's all D1 or bust in Texas for most kids. After a kid doesn't get into the UTs or A&Ms, is it then that the ones who still want to play do research to see there are tons of programs that offer football at the non scholarship level.

Can't knock a kid for leaving SMU and wanting to play again. He won a ring and had a great game. Also, I'm sure MU has had their fair share of transfers come to their program, cough cough PG.

Anyways not my fight here. There have been a lot of kids grow to love D3. If it weren't for MU I doubt the division would have the recognition it has received. They need the respect for what they've proven. Now the south needs some respect because we play dang good football down here too.. I'm glad there are new teams fighting every year to replace the prior champ. It's good for the game.

Season is over....time to regroup and move on.

I do wear a cowboy hat and have boots. Also dip and ride horses. Also can sling a pigskin. But you won't find many Texans driving Subarus down here

You sound like a respectable Cru fan. Congratulations on the 'Ship!

PG transferred from another D3 school. Although Mount does have a LB from Akron. But most wouldn't consider Akron a D1 school.

MU was way ahead of the curve recruiting FL players. I remember a few convos I had with PG prior to him going to the colts and the transfer process. Class act.

Not a Cru fan, just saw them a few times this year and knew what they were capable of. Also Saw MU play a few games too and didn't think they were the same as the days when they had Nate Kmic, Chuck Moore, and Dan Pugh. More of an air attack now. Y'all's #2 could tote the rock though. I Just love watching these programs go at it.

It will be interesting to see how UMHB MU UWW NCC look after having so many senior starters. Who stays and who leaves...we're all entering the dog days of football now.

D O.C.

Yup, I ignored this page all season but I'm here now.  I can take some more karma hits.
I drive a Subaru WRX; 2.0 litre / 225 horsepower.
Lending an athlete  a car is a simply horrible in the eyes of the NCAA.
I'm more concerned with the legal run-ins an UMU qb and a WW running back had.
Justin Beaver was the name one of you was trying to recall.

I still can see Nate Kmic introducing himself to the world by hitting that hole at the 3 and running away 97 yards for pay dirt.
