Sad to report that MUC57 has passed away. I will miss his kindness and sportsmanship.

This is very sad to hear.

May I echo the sentiments about the passing of MUC 57. He was a joy to read on the boards and will be missed.

I had the honor of meeting him several years ago at a game at Hiram of all places!

We connected on the board and got together for a fun day of D3 football.

Two old? guys decked out in Mount gear at a Hiram home game!

They may have thought we escaped from the Home? ;D
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Incredibly sad news.  He was a bright light in a world filled with people like me who take ourselves too seriously. He was a joy to read and banter with. I will miss him. A lot. I rarely do emoticons.  :'(

My prayer is that he is in heaven proclaiming, Go Father, Go Jesus, Go Holy Spirit,  Go Raiders, and Go Everybody!  :)

Your sign off is a true testament to MUC57! I never met him face to face,  but truly felt his caring and passion through messages and on the phone. I had the pleasure of having a great phone call with him during the Covid shutdown for over an hour and he just card about other people.

Does anyone know MUC57s family very well? After seeing all the kind words about him it might be nice to compile these comments somewhere and share with his loved ones. They probably have no idea that a bunch of strangers on the internet are paying him all these well deserved compliments.

Anyway I concur with all the other comments, MUC57 embodied what online discussions should be, always enjoyed his positivity, good sportsmanship and Purple Raider spirit!

I think I found his son on Facebook and shared our condolences and the information to read here.

Losing MUC 57 is a great loss to the board.  He was always a great fan, with good things to say, a gentleman, and one of the best Raider fans ever.  Rest in Peace, my friend.  We will miss you on here.

I seem to remember hearing that date from a staff member recently. There was an article in the Alliance Review this week where Coach Dartt was interviewed. In that they said Plunk was a junior,  so that means he must've taken the covid year eligibility wise. Coach also shared how well he feels like they recruited this year. Getting excited for the season!

I believe in that same article it mentioned that they return 18 of 22 starters.  I don't recall off hand how many seniors they had last fall, but I'm thinking it was more than 4 so the covid year is being used it seems.  I'd imagine that will be the case at a lot of schools this fall.

with some kids playing five and even six years, Nate Kmic's career rushing record looks even more impressive

The Covid extension is great for those able to extend their college days . . . and lousy for those younger players who will be effectively losing a year of playing time because the athletes ahead of them on the depth chart didn't move on.

Kind of a zero-sum game.
