Kind of cherry-picking your stats there as Del Val also played Westminster.

THE Westminster?!?!?  well, I stand corrected.  Delaware Valley played one of history's toughest schedules and to be unbeaten after playing such powerhouses as...Kings? and Stevenson? is truly incredible

I was impressed with Beaudrie the first time I saw him during a JV game. He's a terrific running quarterback and I expect the offense will change next year to suit him. He's not been called upon to pass us down the field but he can throw it. Think J.T. Barrett.  He's no Braxton Plunk, but no one is throwing the ball better than Braxton is right now. I am intrigued by the idea of inserting him in as a "wildcat" back. However, Mount's history in the playoffs is to go with the guy least likely to fumble and that has been DeAndrea Parker. It is interesting to see Echeverry come on, and only a sophomore! Extra practices and games have long been Mount Union's advantage over other OAC teams, and Echeverry is the latest example.
Weather forecast for Doylestown says 40's ,low wind ,no snow and 24%chance of rain. Good conditions for the best QB in D3 and Geoff Darts passing attack.
Not looking forward to the drive, but flying into Philly still involves a 2+ hour drive.

I don't know who this Brandon Plunk Guy is but Braxton better watch out for his job!

The Mount Union site also says the game is in Doylestown, PA..... WOW...I don't know which one was worse. Last year NCC at Mount our this one??

I might be biased, but sending Mount to DelVal is at least based on the criteria (DVU's SOS is significantly higher); last year was the committee rerunning numbers and reranking, which they weren't supposed to do.

I'm sure the Raiders will be plenty motivated.

Don't bring logic into this discussion.... let me be upset that I don't get to watch a home game! It just seems odd to be that they go with the SOS this year, but for whatever reason haven't used this consistently in the past. I doubt that this will be a distraction and can only hope for more focus.  Either way, it's another week that we get to watch our team in the playoffs.

If it makes you feel any better, it's a thrill for Del Val to host Mount Union.

Come early, run the Rocky steps, eat a cheesesteak. Make a weekend of it. :)

I believe Plunk may have another year of eligibility (COVID Year) if he wants it.

I feel bad for the parents, but as an alum I love road trips to new places.  It's a large part of what makes D3 fun.  Go to a locale you may have no other reason to visit and take it in.  My bucket list items have long been Mount games at SJU and/or Linfield.  Either would be awesome as a fan.

I think the NCAA is looking ahead thinking if Mount wins, then they would, most likely host the semi, which would be four home in a row.  Makes sense to me to make them travel at least once to take away the appearance of Mount bias....just my opinion.

For the first time... in ages ... Mount is playing less than an hour from me .... and just so happens I will be in South Carolina for the weekend.

For those of you visiting, make sure you get to New Hope/Lambertville.  Lots of great eateries and stores.  Wonderful towns on the Delaware.  The Lambertville Inn is right on the water and a great hotel if you are looking to make a weekend of it.

Hobart hosted Mount Union in the first round in 2016. It was great game in super windy conditions. Hobart tied the game 21-21 late in the third quarter , that the Purple raiders erased pretty quickly after 2 Hobart turnovers and a very effective rushing game with a back named Mitchell, I think. That was not the best Purple Raiders team but they were very impressive , never panicked and went about their business. Purple Raider fans were very respectful and deserve a lot of respect for their program. Good luck against Delaware Valley, it's a lovely area for a road game.

My wife and I very much enjoyed the visit to Hobart.  Beautiful campus, beautiful area.  We've actually been back a couple times since then.  Still debating the drive to Del Valley.

GoogleMaps shows it as a ~2+30 drive up into Pennsylvania for me.  If the weather stays favorable, I am leaning towards making the up and back in the same day.
I do much prefer the 20 minute drive to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis to watch the Purple Raiders play, though.   ;D

Good Morning Purple Raiders fans!   Yes, Philadelphia is great (my adopted big city), but Doylestown is just as wonderful in it's own small town way!   Please for ALL who come over to Aggieland, enjoy the trip and the stay!   We all know that Mount Union is a D3 powerhouse and we're all appreciative of that fact - thanks Gordon Mann for your very true post!   Looking forward to watching that game on MAC tv, and until then - Practice hard Men!

For all Mt. Union fans making the trip to Doylestown this weekend - i hope this link comes through "ONLYINYOURSTATE.com" - a write-up for Doylestown.
