Did anyone find out about the person tossed from the Mount/DelVal game? I would like to know who it was and what the agenda was.

Listening to the broadcast team as well as some of the UMU personnel, the most probable realization is that it was a ball boy.  The local college is responsible for acquiring ball boys for both sides of the playing field.  This person would more probably be known to the local players.  Thus the high five.

Not necessarily a spy, although he could have been one.  IMHO harmless.  If more, up to y'all.

Never underestimate the stimulation of eccentricity.

that and he was basically holding the footballs out in the rain instead of keeping them covered and/or drying them

I didn't see the game live (went to Toronto for a 4 day weekend) but I watched a stream on Mactv. Don't know who called the game but they were better than any of the ESPN crews that have called them. Really an outstanding job. As for the Aggies...they are BW. They have some talent but they have zero discipline and an equal amount of class.

Did Mount have more penalties? Yes. But watch the game, most were reactions. DelVal had a lot of posers. There are 2 kinds. The first are the ones who can't play and cheap shot because it's all they can do: traditionally Wilmington. The second type cheap shot to get attention so they can motion to friends on the sidelines or in the stands. That's DelVal. They have a couple outstanding players on D but they seem more interested in getting attention than anything else.

DelVals issues are coaching. It starts and ends with HC. He is ok with all the penalties...even the announcer said it...they are what they are. Win and move on. No injuries...go Everybody.

I was unaware any d3 programs did pre game pressers. I know there's usually availability during post game for the playoffs but this is new to me

Usually we don't, but as you can imagine with none of the major colleges playing this week, the media has been more active than usual and instead of having people do individual interviews, this format allows for media availability without too much disruption to the daily routine.

Very cool! I wish mount did one too

After hearing about the size differences between NCC, UMHB and Mount Union last year I decided to look at the team sizes objectively for this year's final four. I pulled player sizes from recent 2-deeps (except for Wartburg I could only find starters until today) and sorted them into position groups where size might be impactful (ignored special teams and QBs).

Anyway here's what I got (height listed in inches)

WTB   DB   71.3   196
NCC   DB   70.4   183
MHB   DB   70.4   183
UMU   DB   70.8   174

NCC   DL   73.1   266
MHB   DL   73.1   266
UMU   DL   73.5   248
WTB   DL   72.5   231

UMU   LB   71.8   211
WTB   LB   72.3   210
NCC   LB   71.2   208
MHB   LB   71.2   208

MHB   OL   74.1   285
NCC   OL   74.0   279
WTB   OL   74.2   274
UMU   OL   74.2   266

MHB   RB   71.0   218
NCC   RB   69.0   209
WTB   RB   69.0   189
UMU   RB   69.5   185

WTB   WR   72.7   196
UMU   WR   72.3   188
MHB   WR   72.0   184
NCC   WR   70.8   182

TLDR: UMHB and NCC are pretty much the same sized teams, UMU and Wartburg are about the same size as each other but smaller than the other two. Also interesting.. and potentially worrying for us over here at the OAC boards is that UMHBs and NCCs D-Lines are nearly the same size as Mount's O-line.

1) I would take the listed sizes at D3 schools with a grain of salt, both exaggerated and simply not updated

2) Mount has traditionally been on the "smaller" side and wins with speed/quickness.  I'll never forget the OL "being bigger than Ohio State" and then St Johns "small" DL destroyed Mount in the Stagg

At least we get to play the games on the field to determine a champ

I agree, I'm sure any given players listing isn't perfect, but I think it's a wash in this scenario since all teams probably fail to update / inflate to a similar degree, I just thought it was an interesting analysis to actually compare size apples to apples. Rather than the eyeball test.

The 2015 semi-final is like a case study of speed winning over size. UWWs offensive line looked like an FCS unit, but Mount's front 7 was like a brick wall to run against in that game.

I also think after moving to a spread offense in 2012 Mount has  been prioritizing quicker pass blockers on the O-line as opposed to in the past where running a more pro-style offense requires bigger guys up front. I know that it's been getting harder to recruit for LOS positions due to D2s popularity in Ohio but I think it's been part of the strategy for the last decade or so as well.

I think weight is a lot more important than height in comparing football players. JMO
