I posed this question on the CCIW board wrt NCC guys maybe deciding to go ahead and move on and graduate since they won. If I were MU guys I'd be thinking the opposite. "We are CLOSE. If we all come back we may just be favorites to win it all."
As a Purple Raider fan, I say "Amen, my Brother!"
But as a Dad, putting myself in one of those player's shoes, it may be whether a path is presently unhindered, or a door is open, to a successful "real life" beyond that of a player.
I respect and love them all, and only wish them the best.  So many in the coaching ranks make me smile every Saturday and Sunday.  So many that I do not see what they are doing today would probably make that smile immensely bigger ...  if I only knew.

When the NCAA announced that players would get an extra year because of COVID I thought it was a good thing, but my thinking has changed.  While the extra year seems fair to those who can take advantage, it is unfair to those who came into the program after them.  They, in effect, are losing a year by being behind a returning 5th year player.  And it could potentially harm the program when talented underclassmen leave for other schools where they have a better chance of playing.  As much as I've enjoyed watching these seniors play, I hope they will elect to get on with their lives.

Well said, time to move on for those seniors. :)

Not to forget mentioning the possible economical aspect of this. The cost can be a difficult challenge for some players for an extra semester let alone a possible full year if necessary , even if grants, need and/or community based scholarships are in place for them.

Yes to all of the above.  I'd add to that the extra year also gives a leg up to those schools with large grad programs, since they give a graduating senior many more options to do something useful with his fifth year (as opposed to just leave a few classes for 5th year fall and graduating late).  The D3 competitive landscape is already so uneven, and there's no reason to tilt it further.

If Wayne Ruby comes back I wonder if there would be a lot of records he could break next season. I also herd rumors of nfl team's interested. He could come back break records then maybe get drafted. Or with all this transfer portal stuff I wonder if a bigger school might offer him. Just sparking a conversation piece!

He'd have to enter the portal prior to any other schools officially "contacting" him.

No idea why I was thinking of this. But does anyone know what happened to Mount Unions alternate Helmets? I know one year we had white helmets and black helmets. I don't remember them wearing these since 2019. I don't watch all the regular season games so I could be wrong

they have only wore the purple lids for the past 3 seasons.  Not sure of the reason why they have gone away from the white, but I have heard numerous players say that did not like the black matte alternates, both the giant M and the chrome Raiders versions.

Mount Union "offering" the Jackson State backup QB with one year of eligibility is an interesting thing.  Should know pretty soon about the guys that are coming back in '23 and those that are graduating

I mean are you saying hypothetically that would be interesting, or did mount union actually recruit the jackson st qb?

D3 "offers" are meaningless, but obviously there was some contact.  The kid seems to move around a bunch, I'm in the Plunk '23 camp
