former Mount WR and Navy Seal, Luc Meacham is playing ball overseas.  Luc is an absolute dawg, and everything that you'd want a Purple Raider to be.  What a D3 story...Champion-to-Navy Seal(!!!)-to-Euro Ball

MOUNT UNION WIDE RECEIVER LUC MEACHAM JOINS NEW YORK LIONS
With the American wide receiver and tight end Luc Meacham, a preferred candidate of head coach Troy Tomlin for the Erima-GFL season comes to the New York Lions.

Inspired by his grandfather Tony Branoff, an exceptional player for the University of Michigan from 1952 to 1955, Luc Meacham began playing American football in high school. The 30-year-old ball catcher spent his time in college on the team of Mount Union University (NCAA, Div. III, Ohio Athletic Conference). In three years, the current fitness and personal trainer scored a total of 21 touchdowns and caught 106 passes for a total gain of 1,740 yards.
He also grabbed nearly 550 yards and another touchdown on returns. With the Purples Raiders, Luc Meacham won the national championship in 2012, in addition he acted as team captain and was named to the OAC All-American team in 2013.

After his senior year in 2014, the 1.85 m tall and 96 kg exceptional athlete began to prepare for the 2015 NFL Draft. In addition to participating in the Pro Day of the University of Toledo, he received invitations to try-outs of some teams of the CFL. He was named to Team USA for the 2015 American Football World Championships in Canton, Ohio, where he won the title in the final against Japan (43:18).

After it didn't work out with an engagement in the NFL or CFL, the travel fan decided to join the US Navy and join the elite unit of Navy Seals. In just under two years, he completed the hard training to become a Navy Seal and was active as a Seal from 2018 to 2022. Luc Meacham was already scheduled to play for the New York Lions for the 2022 season, but restrictions from his time in the military did not allow this. All the more, the likeable American is now looking forward to finally proving himself on the football field again and continuing his career in Braunschweig.

We didn't when Dan Quinn coached the Falcons in Super Bowl LI, but who knows, perhaps.
A missed opportunity then and now IMO.

I mean, I wouldn't disagree, but we are up to our eyeballs in basketball this time of year. Couldn't get time together to get a football podcast out in January. Etc.

there must be D3 basketball programs that have the same national interest as Mount.  I wish them well

Didn't Ruby tweet that he was coming back a few weeks ago?  I thought he and Duke Hill both already did.

Duke Hill has a leg injury that will not allow him to compete. Wayne Ruby is questionable now. The sources
are highly accurate.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting to hear after what they shared on social media. Stuff happens though.

How could they make those decisions so late? Wouldn't they have already applied to graduate by now, it's halfway through spring semester.

love Duke and appreciate everything that he has given the program, and truly hope that he recovers, but losing Ruby would a much larger loss for Mount

Noting that Nick Sirianni now has two key vacancies within his Eagles coaching staff (not sure if only one, or both, were expected), I am wondering if there is any opinion that he might reach out to an old teammate who is coaching at the D1 level out in Iowa to ask him if he would consider coming back east to join his Eagles staff.

Mount has the '23 football roster online, with the disclaimer "not official until August '23".  This seems to be the earliest roster post in MUC history and likely recruiting tactic for the portal and highly coveted HS recruits.  A lot of returners listed
