Kyle Miller was given significant consideration for the nearby Marlington (HS) head coaching gig. He may have even been offered the job (I think he was but cannot confirm).

Glad he is staying with the Purple Raiders. I have heard he is really helping with recruiting and the Marlington job is a disaster waiting to happen.

Unfortunately,  Marlington can't keep good coaches, teachers and administrators at this time. I truly feel like they are at a crossroad in their history of the direction of the district. The kids pay for it in the end...

Many of us have been asking for Coach Dartt to consider passing off his OC duties,  here we go. Hopefully this allows him to do more big picture things during the game like management. I'm sure he will still give his input when necessary,  as he should.

I was one of those who thought the Raiders needed to be a new OC. I hope Coach Collins excels in his expanded role
and that Coach Dartt will focus on what he should being a HC.

Had lunch with an Alliance native/MUC alum in Westerville, back in January (after Mount's Men's basketball game ... where I talked to Sebring's great, and Mount's 1,000 point scorer, Dave Scarpetti), and we talked about the class that you taught, picking it up from Judge Thomas, who went to the hospital.  This would have been Winter Quarter 1981 (as they called it then), I think.
I went and visited Judge Thomas in the Alliance hospital, and will never forget the large Mount Union blanket that he had draped over himself and the bed.  Only a short period of interface, but he was a great individual and a positive influence.
Don't want to make you feel old, but, by God, you are older than me!  Now ... Where is my walker?  Not sure how I can misplace such a contraption.

 Yes, John was a great man. I named my firstborn John Thomas. Mount Union has asked me to teach a Criminal Justice introduction course next spring. I'm a little concerned about offending delicate sensibilities by relating true stories about the dark, cold side of the system, but I'm going to anyway.
