sigma one

A couple of weeks back D3fanboy mentioned that Malcolm Rogers from Hiram was transferring to Mount Union.  Rogers ran for 1248 yds in 2022 (7.2 ypc), and 16 TDs.  He had six 100+ yd games.  His totals include three games where he carried a total of 19X. He had runs of 69, 80, and 99 yds.  This for a team that finished 2-8, and whose two wins were both over teams that did not win a game.
Rogers is listed at 5-9, 190 lbs.  He transferred to Hiram after attending Tyler JC in Texas, his home state.
With the Mount O-line I hope he gets a chance and will be waiting to see what he can do in a conference a big step up from the NCAC.

I went over to Mount Union to watch practice and can confirm that Braxton Plunk and Wayne Ruby are back. In fact, the only starter not back is slot receiver Manley, whose out of eligibility. This is not an Apirl fools joke.

bad news for the rest of D3

For 2023, could the Raiders have other key players back on defense to make another title run?  They will have
the offensive fire power again and a new OC, which was badly needed.

Oh wow -- that's a cool deal and I am super glad a D-III coach and two former D-III players are here.

can't hate on another Raider being in the NFL, but....ugghhh...not a lot of time to get a new OC in to keep Dartt from calling fades on 1st and GL from the 2 again

Junior is a future star in coaching, his 2012 playoff run was absolutely bonkers

rd 1 - 6 for 145 2TD
rd 2 - 12 for 228 5 TD
Quarters- 6 for 102 2 TD
Semis - 11 for 200 2 TD
Stagg - 8 for 120

Since Junior Collins is heading to Indianapolis, does Dartt take play calling duties back? Is there another coach in the program who can do a good job or does Dartt look outside the program?

Good Question.  I think the only coaches on the current staff who could handle the play calling duties are Coach Darrt and Coach Kehres. I don't forsee Coach Kehres taking on that responsibility because of the prep time involved.  It will be interesting to see which way they go.

hopefully Braxton spent the off-season throwing the ball at targets 10-15 yards away, going to see that about 600 times this season

Big loss...I was hoping to see him take over the reigns. It sounds like he's got a good head on his shoulders and has big things ahead of him.

Sad to see Noah go, but certainly understand it.  I wish him all the best.  Someone is getting a talented QB and, from the looks of it, an excellent young man.

The covid year strikes again.  I happy to have Plunk again, but can't blame a kid after being in college three years and actually wanting a chance to start for a year or two.  I know it finally benefits the Raiders this year, but it'll be so nice to get back to where D3 kids getting four years of eligibility in five years instead of six.
