Who does that make QB2 for the Raiders?

Chase Copper was the only other QB with stat(s) last year:  0/1 passing and no yards rushing

AJ Shorts will be a True Junior this season.

There are six QBs on the roster (not counting incoming Freshmen).

Braxton Plunk - Super Senior
Trey Shaffer - Senior
AJ Shorts - Junior
Chase Copper - Sophomore
Whit Hobgood - Sophomore
Noah Grigson - Sophomore
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Looking at Plunk's Career, I was wondering where he stands in Historical reference to other MTU QBs.

Plunk was the full time starter in 2020 (4 games in spring of 2021), and in 2021-2022.  He has been QB1 for 33 Games. Borchert (I think) was the starter from 1994-1997, which would give him 53 career starts.

Currently he stands:

Pass Attempts:
Game: #1 (58)
Season: #1 (513)
Career: #2 (1,279, Borchert had 1,447)

Pass Completions:
Game: #1 (43)
Season: #1 (381)
Career: #2 (914, Borchert had 946)

Yards Passing:
Game: #3 (521, Borchert had 584)
Season: #2 (4,551, Ballard had 4,555)
Career: #3 (11,593, Borchert had 14,482)

TD Passes:
Game: #2 (7, Ballard had 8)
Season: #5 (50, Borchert had 63)
Career: #4 (125, Borchert had 189)
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

Ruby and Plunk need a title in '23 more than anyone else on the roster, other than the HC maybe.  It'll be evident early-on how the offseason leadership was

In non-Mount news, JCU found its new AD. Brian Polian is coming back to the helm. I think this is an excellent hire!

Is he the DB that had the ball bounce off his helmet in the loss to Mount?
If he is, the veterans are going to have a field day with him on their down time.

I went back and watched the video.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjpxXKkQOl4

The ball bounced off #2 Robbie Williamson's helmet.  Kendall was #1.  Kendall was in the area, ball bounced over his head to Ruby.

Incidentally, Williamson spent his freshman year at Tiffin, then two season's at Mount Union, then transferred to BWU:  https://www.bwyellowjackets.com/sports/fball/2022-23/bios/williamson_robbie_i18d

Great hire by JCU.  I noted in the release that JCU has won 7 straight men's All-Sports trophies.  I know that probably bothers a certain retired AD in Alliance.  LK the AD stressed the importance of winning the All-Sports trophy.  JCU has done a fantastic job across the board with their programs.

Dr. Acula

I'm only posting this here to get a little traction hopefully.  First off, congrats to our JCU posters.  The Streaks won the OAC baseball tourney and we will have THREE teams in the ncaa tourney.  Second, for us Mount folks our softball team won the OAC tourney and is headed to the ncaa tourney.  They had 4 girls make all-tourney team and those 4 are 3 freshmen and a senior who is a future M club HOF player.  This is really a fun group so please tune in if you can.

always good to have a quartet of near 30 year old grad students as captains, and some how I believe that Mason has at least one more year of eligibility left after '23, could be two
