Don't you think no small part of the little sisters of the poor is that no one is picking up the phone to schedule NCC and Mount OOC?  I've long wished that Mount would schedule Linfield or St Johns in a home and home but I don't think it'll ever happen unfortunately.

There have been some teams in the past who would schedule Mount (UWW and St. John's Fisher come to mind).  One issue I think is that Mount won't schedule a non-conference away game where there is significant travel.  So that will eliminate a lot of opponents.

Sorry, I was referring to the playoffs. I do believe everyone should have a path to the championship, that's what I hate about FBS. But it's also crappy that there are really, really good teams left out, while NCC beats Lake Forest 50-0 in the playoffs. Just annoying is all.

the PAC going with 10 conference games for a couple of years also takes away 10 potential OOC opponents (probably never going to schedule W&J).  Mount's not going to hop on a plane for a regular season game.  Defiance was a rough selection, but isn't a typical OOC for Mount.  I'd like to see the NCAC or MIAA teams as the season opener....which there is still not an OOC on the '24 schedule

I know for a fact UW-W has picked up the phone more than once to initiate a home and home with NCC. They have no interest. They don't see the advantage.  I'm pretty sure we reached out to Mount a couple of years ago too, but if I remember correctly, at the the time Mount had scheduled out pretty far into future. I'm not sure if that's still the case. If Mount has any openings within the next few years, I'd encourage them to give UW-W a call. How fun would that home and home be?

It was fun the first time around, as was the UW-O H/H.  I'd personally love a Mount-UWW type opener to be played at the HOF stadium and even add another top match for some pop.  A D3FB showcase weekend would be pretty sweet, but lack of attendance and TV probably kills that.

Mount has openings, but only for one week.  Take a look at: https://www.d3football.com/opendates and try to find a match, I'd assume Mount is looking for a '24 OOC home game

Maybe we have a future game 1 opponent close by. Grove City seems to have put a program together that would make for a interesting game one opponent. What's their number? ;)

We may get a chance to test them out if the playoff Gods work their magic. :o

I have no doubt Mount would sign up for a home and home with Grove City, Carnegie Mellon or Case within 30 sec of the offer coming in, but no PAC non-conference games at least through next season

All of those would be a huge score for SOS. And good enough where Mount could actually learn more about their team early in the season. PAC's ten conference games is really unfortunate.

Mount's SOS is always going to be around .500, it is what it is.  the 9-1/8-2 OOC unicorn would be great but it's not likely for the Raiders.  It looks like Albion, Denison, Augustana are the best options for week one in '24, but who knows

Maybe the "Blue Gold Club" can fund a down and distance graphic on the video feed before next week's game.

If looking to do a "Home and Home" contract for the '24 and '25 seasons ... and in Week 1 (where I assume UMU wants the games to be) ... I would say that the likely candidates are Denison and RPI.
RPI would be a nice OOC addition.

Twenty five minute halftime so the refs can review a targeting call they made against Mount Union.
Looked clean from my seats.  Receiver was not defenseless, nor was it helmet to helmet.
Seems like the officials are really trying to protect Otterbein on some of the hits.  It didn't appear that roughing the passer call the Otterbein quarterback was even touched.  He slid at the Mount defenders feet and to avoid contact, the defender dove over the quarterback.
Also, a back flip will cost you 15 big ones.
I rate it a 10/10.  The Mount cheerleaders couldn't do a better one especially while wearing a full set of pads and a helmet.

Well, targeting upheld.

Then overturned ... LOL!

2nd half kickoff is a joke.

Better officiating crews in the state today must be doing high school football playoff games.

Fido0650

BillyRayJimBob, not sure where you get your info from, but the targeting call was overturned not upheld.

My source is the video feed announcers.
They said it was upheld, and a couple of minutes later said that that they received word from the truck that it had been overturned.
Thus, I updated my post, above.
And there we are!
