Don't know that Alma poo-poo'ed all over themselves. Probably a battle right down to the end if their QB isn't hurt in the second quarter.

You're right.  Mount's offense poo-poo'ed all over themselves two weeks ago

Cortland put up 58 points and 648 yds.  That's a really tough pill to swallow after 20 pts last week.  It is what it is.

Cortland was 9 of 9 in the red zone....oh my....

Mount is losing K Deaglan Camron to the transfer portal

This is......odd?? Is he trying to go D1? Closer to home (Florida)?

I can make sense of kicking at a (former?) D3 power for a year and trying to get the rest of your college paid for with a solid season.  There will be a million other transfers, and I hope that LK makes Geoff hit the portal hard, after he eats his peas and carrots at the family dinner table of course

I'm just a lowly accountant but I believe even if those were all FG that's more than 20 points.  I'll double check on the 10 key though.

As an engineer, I can confirm your FG math is correct.

I knew this day was coming when the LK shine is gone.  Just never expected it to be to an Alma.  And one that gave up 58 to Cortland.  That's an ugly way to die.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

You and Ric said it for years, that MUC Football post-LK wouldn't have the continued championship dominance.

You knew.

More respect for LK than ever before.

I don't think anybody is expecting 6 titles in 7 years or 11 straight Stagg Bowls, but what is going on right now is not just "LK is gone".  Mount is an overtime vs Muhlenberg and a hail mary bounce of a BW helmet from not being in the semifinals for four straight seasons.  If you want to beat your chest and call yourself "the standard", then this isn't it.  They already stopped using the "Welcome to the Machine" banner, "The Standard" can't be too far behind at this pace.

robertgoulet

Wading into the deep end from a spot of ignorance, but starting in 2010 there were only 2 seasons where there wasn't a 1 score game for MU in the playoffs (semi's or earlier).
You win! You always do!

"...Is not just LK is gone" I think you're MASSIVELY undervaluing one of the greatest college football coaches of all time, his impact could only carry the program so far before it regress back to being just an elite program and not a perennial championship program.

If we'd failed to win the OAC for a few years or missed the playoffs or had several round 1 or 2 exits I'd be agreeing with you, but this seems like a pretty natural decline after 30 years of dominance

I think the weirdest thing as that THIS year's team is the one that didn't get it done, I definitely expected next year to be a struggle, but this team certainly felt like a Stagg Bowl lock

WRMUalum13

On a different note. What is wrong with the OAC football schedule. Why can't they just let rivalry games happen at the end of the season?

I was just looking ahead to 2024 and saw Mount plays JCU right out of the gate and BW the week after.

The Cuyahoga Gold Bowl will take place on October 19th and Otterbein plays Capital  on October 26th.

It cannot be that difficult to just let rivalry games happen in weeks 10 and 11.

The PAC has less wiggle room with scheduling than the OAC and they still manage to preserve rivalry games... I don't get it.

Dr. Acula

Don't they just flip the conference schedule?  I think it's literally that lazy.  They do home/away then flip the schedule do home/away and so on.

Oh yeah I see what they're doing... I just want to know WHY??? That's the lamest way to do it, when you have real geographic rivalries in your conference.

in the PAC, Thiel plays Grove City for the Mercer County cup in week 11, Carnegie Mellon Plays Grove City for the Academic Bowl in week 11.
W&J Plays Waynesburg (they are 30 minutes apart), Westminster plays Geneva (35 minutes apart)

It's MUCH more fun to play a rival at the end of the year, and doing things to make this more fun should certainly be a priority at the D3 level.

I just don't think it's that hard, I might make my own schedule and send it to the OAC office lol.
