I've heard good things about Luke throughout his playing time and through the years of coaching. To me, a huge perk to someone like him is his background in Strength and Conditioning, in addition to Oline coaching. Those guys just see things from a different perspective.

if we're going to toss out dream OC candidates, it will be interesting to watch what happens out at UC Davis.  Kevin Burke is currently listed as Running Backs coach, however Dan Hawkins (KB's Team USA coach) recently stepped down and was replaced by Cal's TE Coach (a fmr UC-Davis QB).  Hawkins was a huge KB fan and I'm sure that the new guy would love him as well, but sometimes new coaches want to bring in their own guys etc.  I'd for sure kick the tires to see if KB wants to come back to NE OH

FYI, I heard a rumor and this is what I found:

3-7, including a loss to Muskingum?  Four home games? WTF is going on in Alliance?

Limited Travel Budget and hard to find opponents who want to play them.

I used to say that about playing Defiance the past couple of years, but at least driving to and from NW Ohio in one day was pretty inexpensive.  Mount and Defiance agreed to play in '22/23 back in 2018, so are we supposed to believe that bussing and staying overnight in the middle of VA for a bottom of the barrel opponent was the best matchup that Mount could find in 4-5 years of trying?

We'll see when its officially announced if this is a one or two year SOS nightmare.  Obviously, I'm not privy to the conversations taking place, but why not have one of the scrambling TX schools fly up for '24 and then fill in '25/26 seasons with PAC schools when they open back up to OOC play.

In my memory, I've never seen a one year non-conference game.  No need to play a top tier team when they can win the OAC and make the playoffs.

I've seen them get 4/6 Home/games in past cycles.  I assume because they had to cater to the opponent.

Dr. Acula

I did not see it mentioned here yet, but JCU All-Everything LB Jahiem Peake transferred to Southern Illinois for his final year of football and to get his MBA.

You sure about this? LK was 40-10 in first 5 seasons (80%). Lk was 61-14 in first 7 seasons (81.3%). From that point on he was 272-11 (96.11%).
No one said Dartt can't win OAC games. Great he has a .929 - if he was hired to kick the he!! out of Wilmington, Defiance, and Otterbein then Mission Accomplished. He was hired to add National Championships.

And for the record - LK inherited a good program from Wable. He turned it into a juggernaut. VK and GD inherited a Ferrari - titles were expected. VK got it done after early struggles but NEVER exited in the 2nd round. GD has taken a Ferrari and turned it into a Ford Taurus wagon. Safe, dependable - but it ain't winning any races (or titles).

I agree.  But VK had a 2nd rd exit to future champ NCC (by far the top 2 teams) in 2019.  Not even the same stratosphere as...Alma

Hire Kevin Burke as HC and Dartt could be OC. That keeps it in the family in a way! :-X

I don't think Kevin Burke is leaving an FCS Assistant Coaching position to come back to Mt Union.

I also don't think Mt. Union fires Coach Dartt unless there is a major fall off.

I'm excited to see what changes occur next season both on the field and if they bring in an OC.

Agree, I would bet though the decision to hire an OC has been made, The question is who could take Mount's
spartan, predictable Offense back to where the Raiders were. 2024 will be a real challenge with so many
areas to fill. The good news at QB. Beadrie returning gives the offense a new dimension. The Raiders
have had a few very talented multi-dimensional QB's. Micheli, Burke, D-Angelo Fulford.

FYI - Mount Union will open next season with Ferrum: https://ferrumpanthers.com/sports/football/schedule/2024

They were 3-7 this season and 1-9 the season before.

If we're looking at winning percentage post-season is a lot more relevant IMO. I'm pretty sure I could have coached Mount to at least 8 or 9 OAC wins the last few seasons.

Dartt's post season winning percentage is only 72%...

VK was 83% in the post season and LK was 86%

That being said, I don't think anyone is really better suited for the job at this point, he just needs an OC!

After thinking about it, one of the Siriannis could arguably be a better fit
