So what you are saying is BW will do something that JC had a very difficult time achieving in the last 20+ years?
Wasn't the change of conference because JC wanted a better chance at making the playoffs?
Enlighten me if I am wrong.

For anyone in the know is there a front runner to replace our departing OAC Commissioner? Any existing Athletic Directors under consideration?

Couldn't be 12/14 - that would be a semifinal round under the 32-team format.  I believe what's happening is:
11/23 - Round 1 (16 teams play, 24 teams are in to the 2nd round)
11/30 - Round 2 (32 teams left...now this plays out like we're used to)
12/7 - Round 3 (final 16)
12/14 - Round 4 (final 8)
12/21 - Semis.  Typically, we're used to this being Stagg Bowl weekend, played on Friday night.
BREAK
1/4(ish) - Stagg Bowl.  I don't think we know yet if they'll do the Stagg Bowl on Saturday (1/4) or Friday (1/3) or some other day around that weekend.  Probably has to do with where it makes sense in the schedule to broadcast.

going to be buried on ESPN 8 after the dozen or so different streams of the Duke's Mayo Bowl and last weekend of the NFL.  What a spotlight for D3FB.  Hopefully ESPN can put all 1000 people at the Stagg Bowl into one camera shot

Always so quick to find the most negative POV on every damn thing.  Week 18 NFL is all on 1/5.  Just one NCAA bowl game on 1/4, which kicks off at 11 am ET.  It's going to be just fine.

Wally baby, if we are doing big J journalism...all you need to do is just a little research

QuoteIn Week 18, two games will be played on Saturday (4:30 PM ET and 8:00 PM ET) with the remainder to be played on Sunday afternoon (1:00 PM ET and 4:25 PM ET) and one matchup to be played on Sunday night (8:20 PM ET). Specific dates, start times, and networks for Week 18 matchups will be determined and announced following the conclusion of Week 17.

It doesn't really matter.  We all know that the Stagg Bowl is a Friday night affair now, maybe the Worldwide Leader will move it to Thursday at 10:00 AM or something to avoid meaningless FBS bowl games

I apologize for my negativity on the 1000 people in attendance thing.  I'm sure that the Texas Stagg Bowl people will be able to draw another 1300 or so

Saturday games weren't noted where I looked: https://www.espn.com/nfl/schedule/_/week/18/year/2024/seasontype/2

Ohio had an opportunity to get control of the attendance narrative and really didn't do any better drawing people to the championship game than Texas did.  Stagg Bowl attendance is an issue for sure, but location doesn't seem to be the primary variable involved.  Maybe we'll do better with an extra week for fans to plan and arrange for travel.

The game should be in Salem.  Canton made sense due to location, but the Hall of Fame Village has far larger issues than Stagg Bowl attendance.  It's almost as big of a mess as the NCAA, but it still makes more sense than having a championship game in a location that is accessible by flight only for 80-90% of D3.

From the "For What it is Worth" Department...
Mount Union is #2 in Lindy's Collegiate Football magazine pre-season poll, sandwiched between North Central (#1) and Cortland State (#3).
Odd not to see multiple Purple Raiders on the 1st and 2nd Teams selection list.  Rossy Moore is on the 1st Team - Defense, and the Pre-Season Defensive Player of the Year.
Dalton Tjong (Ohio Northern) is SO good that he made both the Defensive 1st AND 2nd Team at the DB position.

Raider 68

Early thoughts on this year's Football:

- At Mount for a meeting today, hope to get some insight from internal sources.

- Will the QB play offer more flexibility

- Who will call the plays this fall, Still no OC as yet?

- Will the defense be able to stop the big plays this season?

- How good will the WR's be?

- How good was recruiting this year? Any D2 players coming via transfer?

- Last year with JCU, who else could join the OAC?

Also interested in who will be the new comish of the OAC if you find that out.

Raider 68

Based upon input from Mount today:

- Junior Collins will be back as an offense coach, not sure about OC, but this is a big
  Plus

- The QB situation is interesting. Noah Beaudrie returns and is the likely starter, but
the Raider lost a good back up from last year Jackson Akins who left due to Beaudrie's
return. A top freshman QB is coming from Painesville and he highly regarded.

- there will be some D2 transfers coming in and some OL

- 130 freshman players coming, in 2023 it was 70, so this fall will have some real
  excitement.
