Thanks for the info. I knew about the freshman QB from Painesville, but did not know about
another freshman. Noah Beaudrie will most likely be the starter, but the QB room is strong.
Any word on the Youngstown State transfer?

you hate to put the pressure on a kid, but Mikey Maloney sure looks like a right handed Micheli

Getting Micheli (a MUC Mount Rushmore QB) comparisons without even taking a snap. Some would say that is audacious but the info I am getting is you might be on the right track and the sky is the limit for young Mikey.

My money is on Maloney to be the starter. Heard a rumor, not sure how true it is, that there is a chance QB1 and QB2 for the Raiders will both be Freshmen and both play a lot.

In terms of the team, my biggest concerns are WR & CB. Need to find some playmakers at each of those spots to have a legitimate shot at Amos.

pretty sure Deuce Parker is back at one of the CB spots, but hopefully having Rossy, Brown, Factor back up front can generate enough pass rush to help find the other CBs throughout the season and having 3 starting safeties back can assist on the back end

WR is a different story.  Turner looks like a nice option in the slot.  Radford is a big body on the outside that had a couple good games before being injured.  Not having a sure fire #1 (PG, Cecil, Jasper, Namdar/Taurice, Hill, Ruby) will be interesting, but someone will step up.  Mount is always loaded at WR, there is a specific freshman that will be very, very interesting

despite the questions about coaching & playcalling, I doubt Mount has forgotten how to recruit in the past couple of years.  There will be lots of very talented kids finally fighting for playing time this year

I went back and looked through the stats.  The last time they didn't have a true #1 was probably 2016 when Kennedy lead them in yardage with under 800 yds.  In Tim's defense that was the dreaded freshmen QB season and he was far more accomplished heading into 2016 than anyone is heading into 2024.  He had almost 1,000 yds in the 2015 title season.  And beyond the #1 there just isn't ton of experience with the WR group period.  This is definitely some unfamiliar territory for the WR room, but if there's any group I'm confident there is talent ready it's there.

They reported yesterday and started practice today fyi.

That means we shouldn't be too far away from an updated roster hopefully.  Always fun to break down the freshmen class.

Also, welcome raidernation1.  Imaginary +k to you!

Yeah he could give Beaudrie a run for the starting job, 2x all Ohio is pretty impressive. Glad he de committed from "D1" Dayton

If I were a betting man I would say Beaudrie would be the early starter and depending on performance, the Freshmen would slowly "earn" playing time.

Has anyone else in Raider Nation yet to receive their season ticket emails yet, or am I the only one?

OAC Preseason Poll was released. Curious which OAC team voted for JCU in addition to Mount.

Not sure if this has been discussed on the board yet, but John Carroll has a new assistant coach this year. https://jcusports.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/dean-paul/2323

Saw this not too long ago, For JCU a good hire, not sure how good for Coach Paul. Maybe JCU is focusing on their upcoming conference change? :o

Mount Union has scheduled Wheaton for 2025 (home) and 2026 (there) and finalized a home game with Grove City in 2026.
Mount Union is 6-0 all-time vs. Wheaton, all from 1995-2008 and all in the postseason. Wheaton is 123-24 since 2010, hasn't won fewer than eight games in that span and qualified for the playoffs 10 times.
Outstanding OOC schedules for the Purple Raiders. Kudos to those responsible for putting them together.
Bye weeks are Sept. 20 (week 3) in 2025 and Sept. 26 (week 4) in 2026.
This information is on the future schedules page of the Mount Union athletics website.

Hopefully this will shut up the whiners but I doubt it.

But, but the D3 experts say that Mount Union won't play any tough OOC games
