Kira & Jaxon's Dad

I went on an internet search for Luke Poorman to see what he was currently up to:

Jackson Harris (So) is now NT1 with Cramer NT2.  Harris has been playing quite a bit so not a huge shake up.
Jazz Jackson (Sr) is MLB1.  Cruz still listed as MLB2.
Zack Liebler (Fr) is now listed as a starting CB.
Ricky Levak (Fr) is now S backing up Yanssens.
Darius Hill (So) is WR2 behind Turner.

I don't understand why TJ Deshields keeps being listed at QB2 when he hs no stats and other QBs are getting backup reps.

it would not shock me that if, for some reason, Beaudrie had to miss a game at this point, that Deshields would get the start.

Klump (MLB) falling off the depth chart all together is something.  Probably injury related, but that position was not a strong spot on the defense.  Jazz Jackson has been a strong special teamer his career at Mount, flies around with reckless abandon

I think Liebler getting starts in the secondary will be huge as the season goes along and, fingers crossed, Deuce comes back healthy.  Coming from Massillon, he will not be awed by any of the "lights" or talent at the this level

Surprised Frank Rossi hasn't been covering Heidelberg games more closely.

I was looking at the stats the other day wondering when do you think the last time the MLB had 11 tackles at the midway point of the regular season?  I don't know enough about the schemes to know how much that contributes to it, but that seems like a really low number for a spot in the middle of the field.

They are brothers.  Both transferred from UW-W. Cole transferred after switching positions from linebacker to wide receiver. So we didn't have him around as long.  Ty was in the program several years. Great kid and excellent QB. Very athletic. He is really well liked by our players and coaches. Everyone was bummed when he left, but he left on great terms. Wish them both the best!

The 19 from Wilma doesn't bother too much.  When you're offense is asked to start controlling the score, the defense can be expected to let up.  I can remember a game against Cap being 73-19.  Same kind of thing happened.

I do (think) I understand the Defensive strategy.  They are trying to put enough pressure on opposing QB with 3 DL and a Bandit so they can keep coverage on 4 and 5 receiver sets.  We definitely have the talent on the DL to do that.  However, offenses these days are ahead of the curve, even on lesser teams and strategy doesn't quite work.  I have been considering the potential that Mount doesn't get a protected top 8 seeding, and we get sent to Salisbury early on... That team this year seems to be more evenly balanced with the triple option as their base set.

I'd really like to see some different looks on D.  Zone blitzes and man to man 2 deep, 3 deep, 4 deep etc.  I guess what I'm saying is mix it up. We definitely have the talent to do multiple things.

I suppose on the other side of this is, creating a plan and giving the players time to embrace and excel at it.  These are young guys just learning and it does take time to grow.  Hopefully, not too much more time.

I do think that TE is best running back we have, and he should be in the game and getting touches early and often.  Save him in the 2nd half.

15-15 is amazing.  With 4 guys over 20 yards per catch.  I mean that's like flag football stuff right there.  Great Job!!!

Logan Hansen's most recent projection (using math the NCAA will be using), has Mount Union with a 1st round bye.  Then hosting Grove City.  If they win there, they would head to Salisbury in Round 3 (Assuming Salisbury beats the winner of Marietta vs. Hobart).

In this scenario, Mount would be seeded 12th out of 40 teams.

1.  North Central
2.  St. John's
3.  Cortland
4.  Hardin-Simmons
5.  Salisbury
6.  Springfield
7.  UW-Platteville
8.  Depauw
9.  Hope
10. Wartburg
11. Susquehanna
12. Mount Union
13. Berry
14. Ursinus
15. UW-River Falls
16. Coe

I'd like to to see two OAC schools in the playoffs again, its feels like its been a while since that has happened  ;D

Assuming Marietta ends up as 9-1... Not sure if a 8-2 JCU would get in

A 9-1 Marietta and an 8-2 JCU would likely mean a 9-1 Mount, right?  A three way tie at the top of the OAC would be interesting come selection Sunday.

More likely is 9-1 Marietta (loss to Mount) and 7-3 JCU (L's to UWW/MUC/Etta) or 8-2 Marietta (L's to Mount/JCU) and 8-2 JCU (L's to UWW/Mount)

And BW still has a chance at 9-1/8-2 with JCU and Etta still on the schedule, if you're into that sort of thing

Totally forgot JCU lost their opener.  Was just thinking conference play, seems like their week one tough opponents have cost them three years in a row

The son-in-law has seemed to struggle with that in his head coaching tenure.

Are you referencing the son-in-law that had life threatening brain surgery in October of 2017 to remove two brain tumors. The recovery was difficult and long and as part of the plan to get him the best medical treatment along with trying to maximize his recovery he and his family moved in with his in-laws.

Dr. Acula

This one is over in Alliance.  Not the case in UH.  Bubonics just tossed a long TD pass.  10-0 BW over JCU in the 2nd.

Yes. That one. I wish him no ill will but his health issues are mo reason for sympathy in his coaching decisions. If they are - then he should not be coaching.

BW will likely BW, but you'd just hate to see JCU lose to both "rivals" in their final OAC season
