Quote from: D3fanboy on October 22, 2024, 01:42:48 AMwith ONU averaging a robust 6.4 yards per passing attempt, I think that we are going to see another round of dink and dunk.  Will Ely make an adjustment?  1 INT through 6 games is very un-Mount-like.  Might be tough to get to the QB with the quick passing game, but there could be a few shots to snag a pick 6...or two

I watched some of the ONU at Berg game.  Let's just say I wasn't left impressed with the Bears vertical passing game in what I saw.  I actually looked to see if the starting QB had gone out with an injury and the backup was playing at that point.  It was not the backup.

For the rankings:  You have to take each game in context.  When UMHB beat UWW, they jumped way up from not ranked.  Then they got destroyed by HSU.  HSU needed a whole game to defeat Endicott.  Then UWW beat Oshkosh, who beat Wheaton and Linfield..  It's too many head to heads and you can't just order it by that alone.

UWP, LAX, UWRF, Oshkosh, Stout... WIAC in general, winning a game in "The" league is considered a signature win.  Whitewater beat Oshkosh, and obliterated JCU.  JCU lost Mount by 7.

Marietta hasn't done anything to be considered the same as any of the team mentioned.

I want the OAC back as prominent conference too, but until more postseason/non conference wins, it is undeserved.
Any W.I.N is a B.F.D

I agree w Bluestreak that UMHB should be ranked ahead of UWW.
Yes, UWW's season resume is better, but head to head trumps imo.

Thankfully we have a few weeks left w great games to be played- and most of the chaos should clear up.

I think that we are on the same page.  Hopefully Mount will come out with some vigor and shuts down the ONU running game and forces the QB to try some throws.  It's time to start stringing together great efforts if Mount wants to get to the end goal that everybody expects.  If Cap can put up 40+, the Mount offense should not have any problems...

Well looks like the Mount ONU game will be on mute today, like they need to plug their mic back in

Edit: they fixed it : )

Powerhouse northern with a three and out.

Somebody needs to wake up the Raiders

Fido0650

What kind of garbage am I watching from Ada?  Is that the 3rd and 4th stringers out there?  The only thing that helped Mount on ONU's first drive was that snap over the quarterback's head.  Now a punt return TD called back because of a penalty.
Come on, Mount has to be better than that if they want to be in the hunt for a National Championship.
Playing like they want to sit home and watch the Stagg Bowl from their
Lazy Boys instead of playing in the game.

Fido0650

Whose offense is playing a more underwhelming game today, the Buckeyes or the Purple Raiders?

mucgrad06

Looks like the recantation of the ott game.

ONU QB is 6'5" 235. He looks heavier than that.

Maybe the ONU "chippiness" will fire up the Raiders...maybe

mucgrad06

I don't think being chippy worked, maybe past raider teams. This team looks happy to play close games with no motivation.

D3fanboy

5 years of sleepwalking against inferior teams, maybe retire "the standard" talk?

Kira & Jaxon's Dad

Poor decision on that throw for an INT
