Quote from: BillyRayJimBob on November 02, 2024, 08:15:57 PMWhile researching some other stuff, how did Nate Kmic have such a down year in 2007 ... a Stagg Bowl appearance year ... sandwiched between national championship years in 2006 and 2008?
 1. 2790 - Nate Kmic (377-2790) - 2008
  2. 2365 - Nate Kmic (336-2365) - 2006
  3. 2349 - Chuck Moore (319-2349) - 2001
  4. 2303 - Dan Pugh (384-2303) - 2002
  5. 1957 - Logan Nemeth (258-1957) - 2015
  6. 1730 - Jeremy Murray (315-1730) - 2011
  7. 1700 - Nate Kmic (274-1700) - 2007
Thank god he didnt play for the SIL - he would have gotten half the carries and all would be the same play. In reality though - kind of funny that his "down" year was "only" 1700 yards. For most RB thats a career.

MUC2011

Look at the scores from that year, he very rarely ever played in the 2nd half of games.

Quote from: RaidersRGr8t on November 02, 2024, 03:42:45 PMHonestly, you are worse than Ohio State fans, which I didn't even think was possible.
You must be a lot of fun to sit with at games, and by fun, I mean miserable.
It's 47 to nothing.
Good. Bye.
Now look what you miserable worse than Ohio State fans went and done! Hope you are happy!  Don't ya know we are up 47-0??  We get a "guest" on this forum and you go and upset them with all that negativity. You Negative Nellies upset them to the point where they may never want to  be a guest on here again.

They removed their account, which is why they now read as "Guest."

The Purples have settled into the offense they will use to get to the Stagg Bowl. Mount has the two best running backs in the league, Ty and Noah, who run behind a good, experienced offensive line. They have a legit deep threat in Nick and a very good short passing game to Williams and Ty. The field goal from 51 yards bodes well, the return game is good, and we have a punter.
It's always tough on our defense to play teams with huge lines in consecutive weeks but we have a few stars on defense. I'm very optimistic.

Talking about old running backs. Whatever happened to Jeremy Murray? I thought he was only a jr then never came back for sr year. Or maybe I'm wrong.

Murray became academically ineligible during the spring semester of '12, and while sitting out the 2012 season (would have been his senior season) was arrested and he never played another down of Mount Union football.

video of Maric's record breaking FG around the 7:10 mark.  The ball was above the uprights when it went in from 51.  The kid has a dynamic leg, might just need to tighten up the operation from snap to foot meeting leather.

I must have really misunderstood the new 40 team playoff bracket, but only 16 teams play in the first round?  everyone else gets a bye?

I was thinking the top 8 got a bye, I guess I never thought about the actual bracket needed.

a Stagg Bowl on the last NFL Sunday Night, in Texas is perfect for the all-knowing NCAA.  500 people will be in attendance and 2,000 will be tuned in...and the players will have the first day of the spring semester the day after.  #whyd3

the NCAA really knows how to screw up a good thing....for progress

I know, I know.  I guess I just figured that the benefit of being a top 8 seed was more than just avoiding such powers as Salisbury or Springfield or Depauw until the quarterfinals that they will won't reach

If there is a portlier referee in D3 football [making the call from the left upright], I haven't seen him ... yet.

During that timeframe, didn't we also have a transfer RB with a name like Germany Woods?  Is he the guy that had a couple of fumbles in the first half of a game and LK never played him again?

I miss Logan Nemeth.  He was unstoppable in the 2015 Stagg Bowl.  200+ yards and could have scored again before VK called off the dogs against St. Thomas' "Coach McCool."

Dr. Acula

I think Germany Woods transferred from Berg post-LK.  He was never a starting RB, but at least one season maybe two I think he was one of the primary backups.

BergAlum2

He last played at Heidelberg for the fall 2011 season and transferred to Mount in 2012, but had to sit out a year, so he didn't get to play until after Larry retired if my timeline is right.

At least Heidelberg had Cartel Brooks to replace him  ;D , he still has the NCAA all division single game rushing record.

According to what I have seen on twitter, it looks like all the D3 football playoff games are going to be only on ESPN+, so a subscription is required to watch all rounds.

Lame! Every December I subscribe then unsubscribe just to watch the final games of the D3 bracket, now it looks like I have to pay for 2 months  ;D
