To be honest, this should be a coaches dream.  Mount has 2 weeks to prepare and heal and learn and sharpen up before the playoffs.  Their likely first opponent is a familiar one.  They have an opportunity to watch them live, and on film.  They have a chance to correct mistakes from the first meeting.  Meanwhile which ever opponent they face, will be coming off a hard fought first round, then have to begin preparation for this game.  It's a huge advantage.  Meanwhile, all other first round bye teams (not 1 and 2 seeds) they have 2 weeks but so does their opponent.  In some cases, lets says Randolph Macon and W&J where talent is very similar, coaching will play a huge role.

I think Mount can win this thing, they need to buckle down their defense.  Create some turnovers, and big plays.  Come out swinging...

I'm jacked for this whole tournament

I agree.  The bracket fell in a pretty advantageous way for the Purple Raiders.  In order to get out of their quadrant, they have two weeks to prepare for a very familiar conference foe, then a PAC program (can't really lose to a MI and PA team back-to-back in the postseason) and then a triple option team that is likely one of the weaker Top 8 seeds.  Mount will have to play consistently well for multiple weeks in a row (which would be something new) but there are not many teams in this quad/side of the bracket that can beat Mount when they play their best.  Maybe we'll see a new, laser-focused, crisp Raiders team in the playoffs....maybe?

Will this "bulletin board material" make it to the Raiders, or is it going to be more vapid gum cracking in practice all week and next Saturday as a weak-side play is called for the 26,000th time since 2021 while the Raiders act like someone else will win the game for them?

Coach is going to fold his arms sooo hard at practice next week

And maybe get a dental checkup to be sure that his teeth will be able to withstand the pounding on that gum come game time.

With everyone blaming Coach Dartt for not opening up the playbook, myself included, maybe just maybe he has given the players all the plays he thinks they can handle.

With all this online learning nonsense students get now, there is no way they are receiving the same education as having to actually attend class in both high school and college.

If you were a kid would you spend the 7 hours or so learning like you had to do in person or spend the least amount of time possible behind the computer and then go do what you really want to do?

Just spitballing here. 😂

I mean I'm sure they still have practice in person!  :D

I wouldn't be so sure - last week's tackling by Mount against Musky would give rise to the suspicion that practice was virtual.

Coach Dartt said that Muskie played "great" due to "playing for a winning season", luckily for Mount all of the teams in the playoffs already have a winning season locked up.  Mount was only playing for an undefeated season, top seed, pride in the program, etc...of course they were out-physicaled by Muskie, I trust a 94% winning percentage HC  ::)

Hmmmmm, so that's why every player was issued a pair of VR glasses along with their football gear when training camp opened up.  On line classes and virtual practices. Throw in some Uber eats and they would never have to leave their room until game time.
Makes sense now.

I don't buy it. I coach HS Football in FL and our defensive calls are probably more complex than most college defenses and our kids handle it.

If your kids are bought in, they can learn it.
