Quote from: Fido0650 on December 14, 2024, 06:57:25 PMLet see, Mount playing pretty well.  Home game for Mount.  This means 3 out of 7 "experts" will take Johns Hopkins, even though Salisbury beat them 41-13 on 9/21.
Oh, and the computer still only has a 50/50 chance of picking the correct winner.  Two teams, one wins and one loses.

Where can we find your predictions for the previous games so we can chat about your accuracy?......That's what I thought.

1.  Not an "expert"
2.  I don't make predictions.
I am just a college football fan that is too old and too wise to make predictions about anything in life.

Not sure who you are, but I must have hit a nerve about making predictions.  Where can I see your prediction accuracy or are you just a keyboard warrior that likes to comment on other people's posts?

THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT..........

Fido, First, looks like you need the class on quoting a post (See HOF Greg Sager or other "expert" posters). Second, you won't find my predictions anywhere (though I have provided my opinion plenty of times--I did say recently on the CCIW board that I thought NCC and either UMU or UMHB would play in the Stagg) but you also wont' find my criticism's of those who do offer predictions.  I don't think any of the D3.Com panel would claim "expert" status for their posts/predictions though most of them have seen more teams than any of us. This site, really exists so all of us who love D3FB can see outside opinions, articles and exposure for our teams. I for one learn a lot from Pat, Greg, Logan, Keith and sometimes even Frank (JK) who have seen games/teams I haven't seen and I am grateful they have spent so many years doing so. While I may or may not agree with their opinions, I like reading them and I try to be proactive in expressing my appreciation in a number of ways.

The point is, I personally am hesitant to criticize, after the fact, those who offer predictions ahead of games, especially when they do so to keep people like me coming back to the site. Would you prefer they don't offer any predictions or other content? I wouldn't.  You don't know me, I don't know you and that's all cool. I am a CCIW fan and a Wheaton alum. If you care to send me a DM I'm happy to hear about your perspective and provide you with my background which sadly goes back a long way.

Finally, I am a huge Dartt fan as I met him years ago when he coached at Wheaton for a minute and I have been around long enough to have seen Matt Campbell and Nick Sirianni play in person in Alliance as well as make the acquaintance of folks like Ric Briena and HSCoach (I hope he doesn't read this!).

Usee:  We'll done my friend ;D  Hope you and yours are doing well.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Quote from: purple blood on December 14, 2024, 05:34:59 PMI think Mount can possibly make it to the stag bowl with TJ but can't beat NC with him. I think you need a qb that can run it also. I don't think you beat NC with a straight up pocket passer. Now that's way down the road just Sayn.  And is Noah 100% or still banged up. I wonder if he was 100% if he'd be starting or Dart just doesn't wanna mess with anything.

I can't explain why Dartt brought him in for one series, and then never used him again in the game even when the offense seemed to be struggling, seemed like such a strange strategy
I was at the game, and do not remember Beaudrie going in.  I saw him on the sidelines, looking quite spry ... headset on/headset off throwing passes/warming up, helmet on/helmet off ... etc.
Sitting amongst player's parents, I heard a lot about every play, but no one said, "Oh look! ... Noah is in the game!!!
Listening and talking to parents was interesting.  Sort of takes you "inside the huddle," if I may.
An earlier post about Coach Dartt sitting at the kid's card table with folding chairs for Thanksgiving dinner wasn't that far off. The player's Mom actually finished my sentence when expressing that posting.

Beaudrie was definitely in for at least 2 plays that I saw.  DeShields was back in quickly though.

Yes. ... The game stats support it.
Just saying that I was oblivious to it.  Might have been the Fireball shots with the Moms?

Lol when in Rome (or the eastern shore) BillyRayJimBob!  You were just being polite!

I thought Mount had a very solid game plan and executed well.  I figured the first SU drive might be trouble as they adjusted to that offense in game speed with good players running it.  After that they did a very nice job all day I thought.  27 semifinal appearances in the last 29 years they said on the radio.  Keep it rolling.

I was just wondering if they will still be having the Pregame Brunch on Sat Morning given the fact that they are on Christmas Break

That would be a bummer if they didn't. When we went to the games we always made sure we were hungry and early for the brunch.

Desertraider

Keep in mind that they still have some students (athletes, internationals, out-of-state, etc) on campus over breaks - so they will have to feed them AND the brunch, and any regular meal, is open to the public for a fee ($10). I wouldn't worry about not having it.

I will sit this one out since I will be in Köln Germany at that time. Enjoy your omelets and the game while I enjoy my mettbrochen and Kölsch. Prost!
