players-formations-plays works at every level.  Love Sirianni and he sure loves our alma mater. Can't wait to see all the Mount Union shout outs from him the next couple of weeks

congrats to former Mount LB Matt Rees on being named Head Coach at his alma mater, Dover.  Interesting to note that one of Mount's current assistant coaches was a finalist for the job as well, a really tall assistant

Saw this in the news, awesome to hear for Matt! Will never forget his blocked punt return for TD in the Stagg. One of the more underrated players in that golden era.

he and DeRiggi were quite the pair of LB for 3 years.  DeRiggi was the thumper and Rees could really run. Rees had a big goalline stop in the '05 Stagg on Beaver that led to Kmic's 96 yard TD as well as the blocked punt TD the next year

Matt and I were classmates. An even better person than player. And it's correct that he was so underrated on that golden era team.

Mount Union players that have entered the portal and recieved "offers" from Heidelberg:

Emmett Smith (RB), Mike Evans (DT), and Cedric Diggs (DL)

with JCU running away from Mount and Marietta losing their HC, the #2 spot in the OAC (and likely a playoff spot) is up for grabs.  Snagging Mount backups and JV players isn't the wildest idea to get to that coveted 2nd position.

Dr. Acula

Throw in Musky's HC jetting after a solid season and Berg is positioned pretty well to make a run at 2nd place.  As long as it's not BW I'll be happy.

Wayne Ruby had a tryout with the Browns today.

Somewhere in there, there is a joke about him being the 4th Purple Raider to consider joining a lesser program, along with the 3 Heidelberg guys.

2nd place would be setting goals pretty high in Berea.  a proud 6-4 isnt going to cut it come playoff time, but it's not a losing record!

Wow- an easy guy to root for. Just read a bit about his family. Two brothers coaching (one at D 3 W&J) and his dad coached. Nick paid his dues as well, moving up the ranks.
I'm sure you all know this stuff, interesting to an outsider though.

no doubt.  You'd think Sirianni would be a big story from the worldwide leader in D3 coverage.  If only he went to school 400 miles to the west

Here's a local (Canton Rep) story about Sirianni and LK
