Yeah that JCU loss to Otterbein last year probably stings even worse since the score was 31-0  :)

Whoops.  Forgive me for forgetting that!

No Santa Claus?  What's next...are you going to tell me that Mark McGuire used steroids?

jdean:
Yeah, I know, we do get an occasional good Ohio football player to come up here to our schools once in awhile. :)  Besides, the tuition up here is quite a bit less than most of the Ohio DIII schools and for some of ours, not bad academic programs! ;D (so an Ohio person could save a little $).

OU#25 hope to run into you at one of the games or if you are going to be in town the night before let me know before hand.  BTW you really do need to lose the Freddie Mercury picture.  That is awful.

How's your boy doing?  Hope he's having a good year!  Would love to see the redmen back by you again this year!  It was a Hell of a trip!!!
HEY NORM, I LOST YOUR HAT! GO REDMEN!!!

reality check

Is the reason that no one is talking smack on here this year in part due to the fact that we are down to only one undefeated team in the conference after just three weeks of conference play???  I think that it's a contributing factor personally.

We have JCU who has the best chance at a Pool C but they have to win two tough road games to close the season.  Outlook: not the best.

We have ONU who has to beat the Raiders for a chance at post-season play.  Injuries have hurt their chances and the NCAA situation seems to be a hump they are stuck on as well.  Outlook:  When you are counting on a victory over Mount as your only ticket to the playoffs then you are the definition of "long shot".

We have OTT who has alredy lost to Mount but must win at JCU and at ONU and still get by BW at home this weekend.  Outlook: You can talk playoffs and running the table all you want but if they finish 7-3, I'd be amazed.

Memo to BW: Only six more weeks and JCU gets to be the ones to brag about their streak of consecutive winning seasons.  They already have something posted on their site about it.  18 and counting for JCU (school record).  I know MUC has a longer streak than JCU but they don't need to brag about theirs because they have other things to talk about in that timespan.

btw...

Did anyone notice on the MUC press release for this past weekend's game vs. Capital?  It stated that the game was to be televised at 8pm on both Saturday and Sunday evening on several different broadcast/cable channels.  The game was never broadcast as far as I know.  Does anyone know why?

Hey Guys I think it is a little too early to talk about Play Offs. The season is only about half over, Even for my Raiders. One game at a time.DON'T LOOK TOO FAR AHEAD!!!!!

Can you pick out what's curious about this quote from London Fletcher in Sports Illustrated?

What is your favorite off-day activity?  Basketball.  I play pickup games at rec centers.  Guys raise their intensity if they know what I do for a living...but I went to college on a basketball scholarship.  I can hold my own.

I doubt this was the case, but seeing it in SI caught my attention.

Pat Coleman

Don't forget, he did not start his college career at John Carroll. He transferred there from ... Akron, Toledo, someone?

Thanks, Pat.  I tried to see if that was the case, but I couldn't find it on Yahoo searches for London or JCU.  I'm happy to find out that was indeed the case.

Where did he go to school initially?

London went to St. Francis, PA on a basketball scholarship.  Then came to JCU b/c his high school coach was our D-coordinator.  I believe London had an offer from Michigan to play football (pipeline to there from VASJ think, Howard, Golic, Grbac), but wanted to try and play basketball instead.

conso: I believe that the Golic about whom I am thinking and who appears on TV a great deal played football for Notre Dame and not Michigan.

HURFMUC:
I'm jealous that you got to see the replay.
You must live on campus at MUC because it was not broadcast over the air on either Canton Station or on Warner Cable in Stark County as previously reported by MUC.
