You have reason to shoot the cannon. I'm looking at the score and see D3 powerhouse Kenyon beat Wooster, at Wooster. A remark about the NCAC would usually be in order but the score says enough.
Now, why should JCU shoot the cannon? Following the Mount loss JCU has actually played some good football, so good I think JCU deserves to replace Wooster in the rankings. I've checked your schedule and you don't have to place Kenyon (at least until the post-season) so it should be clear sailing!

Yale-Dartmouth. I'm seeing men shaking hands after every play, male cheerleaders, the guys on the bench reading books and the spectators in turtleneck sweaters smoking pipes. How would Mount or Linfield matchup agaisnt either of the Ivies?

On a JCU note, and this is a bit of a stretch....

Dartmouth's backup QB got onto the field late in the 4th quarter today agaisnt Yale.  This QB's grandfather has a stadium named after him in University Heights.  I did not know prior to today that Dave Shula was a WR at Dartmouth but the legacy continues there from father to son in Daniel.  I wonder if JCU ever entered either Dave or Daniel's minds.

It is almost uncanny how accurate your picture has been painted except the spectators didn't need their turtlenecks just yet.  It is actually funny that the first tailgate experience I was a part of there included smoked salmon and champagne though.  What happened to burgers, brats and beer?

I will have to defer my Ivy League critique until the Yale/Brown game in a few weeks.  The rain started last night and has gone steady throughout the day here.  They played in a swamp today.  The game play today was similar to Berg/Musky on a good fall afternoon; pound the ball up the middle and repeat until you punt, score or fumble.  I will be happy to follow up after the Brown/Yale game in a couple weeks.  I plan on seeing a NESCAC game next week and I would be happy to give you a response there too.

Not sure why the Quakers have a cannon to shoot off, might just be using it on occasions to keep the gulls off the runways at Wright-Patterson AFB! It surely can't be for scoring.....and no I didn't call you Shirley! Can anyone explain the second half of the Mount game today, I had a game to play in myself and when i left to go at half they are up 31-0 and rolling, I come back and catch the ending at 41-6? Did the cheerleaders go on strike, refusing to do anymore push-ups or did they play that flat AGAIN? Just curious

Which NESCAC tilt will you be going too? I still gotta make a Williams game yet this fall, even though (yawn)  they aren't anywhere near the excitement of a Mount game unless it's against Amherst.

Your boys haven't played Mount yet, and I'm sure it won't be 70-0, but you and I both know that between our two teams, mine has a signifcantly better shot at the playoffs.

Thinking about seeing Wesleyan/Bates just because it's in my backyard.  I have been told that Wesleyan is a neat setting to see a game but I don't expect the quality to be that great by any means.

Yes.  Your team has a significantly better chance of making the playoffs...and they still won't make it either  CAP, you have an opportunity to end JCU's season so don't blow it.

havent ever been to Wesleyan but imagine Bates should handle them, though both seem to be bottom feeders this year in the NESCAC. Its truly sad that the conference doesnt have an interest in the DIV III playoffs would really be interesting to see how well Trinity(Conn) would do.

WOW! how far will MHB drop now in the rankings, seeing that Hardin-Simmons already trashed Howard Payne the week before! MHB goes down to 13th, 14th, 15th? hmmmm, things are getting interesting!

Drum roll please. BW-Ott is 0-0 at half. BW had 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 from the 3yd line before the half. I guess the possibility of going for 3 pts from this offensive juggernaut wasn't in the cards. BW apparently has a first time starter at QB--Mental.
