7-3 Musky leads the Berg in the 1st.

0-0 so far in the MUC/BW game...Raiders you should be up three TD's by now...

reality check

Hostetler intercepts a pass at the one yard line at the end of the half.

*Idiot comment of the day: "Perhaps Hos should have batted that pass down rather than intercept it."

Yeah, we should give Pentello two more chances from the ONU 7 yard line rather than intercept the pass.

HALFTIME in Ada, CAP still leads 10-7.

ONU (Hostetler) intercepts a halfback pass again at the goal line, returned to the 16 and coughed back up to CAP.  This time CAP gets a FG and now leads 13-7 halfway through the third.

3-3 at the half in Alliance?  What's that all about?

Looks like Mount has finally remembered that they are Mount Union College football.  It's at least 17-3 now.

Stadium starting to make some noise...

Quirk's scramble and  subsequent toss to Whitwer in the endzone seems to have breathed some life back in the crowd.

Other scores:

Mount pulling away 17-3
MUSKY 49, BERG somewhere around 9
WIL 3, ETTA 12

CAP 40 yard FG attempt is good with 37 seconds left.

CAP leads 16-14

ONU still has all its TO's and will need to come up with something big.

Capital wins, 16-14.

that helps clean up the Pool C situation a little bit.

It also takes the appeal out of play as a question mark, IMHO.

There will be too many 1-loss teams to consider for the Pool C bids.

ONU falls short.  CAP wins.  Congrats to the Crusaders.

CUFan

You called for a tight, low scoring game and you got it.  Congrats.

A bad day for ONU.  Almost no offense in the second half (124 yards of total offense in the 2nd half).  Take out that TD drive of 66 yards and it looks even worse.

God job by Capital.  They shut down the Polar Bear O.

Wow, there's tough competition at the top of the OAC this year.

Pull the upset of the decade and then lose? Not surprised Cap won, just disappointed.

Mount put on a dynamic display of offense ala the Cleve Browns and crushed BW 17-3. I was occasionally watching the fans on the covered side and there was one section near the south end where the fans were actually alive and cheering.

For fans interested in local HS football, McKinley is pulling away from Massillon in the 4th, 31-8.

Too bad for ONU (and I do really mean that).  Still, this team did beat the King.  Congrats to Capital.

Now, apparently there's some football game going on around here.

Toph:
Prediction for your score tonight. Think you can win by 2TD's?

Shark

I just got back from the MUC game. BW gains more yards passing than MUC and actually threw the ball more often than the Raiders. :o

Jorris seemed to have lost his confidence and looked out of sync in the 1st half. Looked like Mason was about to come in at the end of the 1st half. Jorris got the start in the 2nd half and looked a little better but still may be on a short leash. I've heard all kind of excuses including this is the 1st week of playoff-off tapes but this team needs to step it up.

The defense looked good but IMHO Mount can't go far in the playoffs simply running the ball this frequently. I would like to think that Garcone's absence has something to do with this but I'm not convinced Hopefully LK can get the offense (especially the passing game) straightened out before the playoffs. Ric, what's your observation on this?

Congrats to Capital. Huge win on the road. Cap's defense has been highly underrated this year. A win by the Crusaders over JCU and they may well get a playoff berth.

Couple things from the Mount game.  Frist, who was calling the plays during the first half for mount's offense.  It was not LK, because at the start of the second half, Ric said on air, that now LK is calling the plays for the offense.  Just curious.  Also, the stadium was a  little more lively, but still Ma and Pa had a hard time cheering.  They were probably annoyed with the cheerleaders for passing out the noise makers.  Couldn't get their afternoon nap in today.  Finally where has the playaction pass from the JCU game gone? Hopefully the Raiders will step it up or it could be a fun post-season.
