Two things ONU:

It is time to take the message of you beating MT off the schools home page

and

Will you please get rid of this thing!!!

That's a heck of a karma-to-post ratio. Perhaps you should get a little seniority before you call a veteran poster out.

Or a veteran coach, for that matter.

But, Pat, he's got the all-time record within his grasp - a record is a record!

Just wondering what you are so mad about. Personal attacks on Dean Paul. That really is a low class comment.

Mount had two weeks between the Capital game I believe so health should not have been the issue. Every team has to deal with injuries and I believe even ONU was missing some major pieces to their team against Mount and managed to overcome that and win a road game in Alliance. I have the greatest respect for what ONU was able to accomplish. Now the cupcakes they played before  ONU  may have also had something to do with how they prepared for ONU. I still believe the big factor in Mount's loss to ST. Johns in '03 was the 66-0 win the week before. After that wipe out it would be hard for any team to think they should have trouble beating any future opponent. They ran into a team that believed they could beat anyone and they went out and proved it. I also do not want to take anything away from St. Johns. They were the better team that day

JCU ran into a team that coudn't do anything wrong. I watched the game and it didn't matter what the Raiders did, it all worked. Now that we are into the heart of the season other teams have had the chance to see what the Raiders like to do and they set their game plan accordingly. It's the Raiders job to make the adjustments to stay one step ahead of the competition so to speak

The suspension that is pending for ONU sucks IMO. There is no way the current team should have to pay the dues for a coach that is two years removed from the program. That being said they still have to earn a spot in the playoffs on the field whether they are getting a pass during the appeal process or not.

Just curiious, is your Ko Hawk name related to the Coe program in Iowa?

The biggest factor in MUC struggling is great defense...... you don't beat Mount with offense.  They'll pull away when YOU make a mistake.  You beat them with solid defense and a few scores.
And for the students, another full drawer of clean undies!

MountFan08

onyxrook is absolutely right.  I've watched every Mount game this year and ONU and BW were the best two defenses they've faced.  As a result they have struggled.  Granted their biggest offensive threat was injured and has seen limited time but still the offense has enough talent to get the job done without him.  The last two games were a test to this Mount Union team.  They got outplayed by ONU and made too many mistakes to overcome a great team.  Against BW they played horrible in the first half but made some adjustments, cut down on the mistakes and made some plays to beat the Yellow Jackets.  I commend Larry Kehres on a good coaching job this week.  He did something at halftime to get his team back on track.  Hopefully he can keep them focused against Musky and The Berg so they are ready for the playoffs.
The impossible CAN happen and eventually it WILL happen.

I was here all day when the game was on.  I was the first one to congratulate CAP on getting it done in Ada.  You came here claiming to support MUC so until that is disproven, you will continue to be the only black eye in an otherwise respectful fanbase.

Two things KOHAWK:

I bet ONU will check this board and happily remove the message that they beat Mt. Union simply because "Kohawk said so".

and

Just because the bear head reminds you of all those times you weren't allowed in the inflatable ball pit due to weight restrictions, doesn't mean you should ask for it's removal.

Coincidentally, your comments about the appeal are so far from correct it's amusing.  Keep it up though.  See the beauty of the appeal process is that you can "drop" it at any time.  I would expect that they do so as a result of today's game.  You truly are clueless.

The funny thing is that I am only responsible for two of those karma hits...which I can only suspect means that other people think this guys out of line just like me.

I think the reason MU struggled the last 2 game is because Garcon either didn't play or was only 50% or less.  He was the difference in the Cap game.   That is why they haven't scored much in the last 2 game  and why Jorris looks out of sync.  I think Caps D is the best in the league and the stats prove that.  They just didn't have an answer for Garcon.

For those agonizing over the score in yesterdays BW-Mount game, you must have a short memory. Mount seldom if ever "blows out" BW and despite some shortcomings, Snell has always had Mount's number defensively. A review of the last 4 meetings shows, 24-7, 24-0, 28-21, and (insert drum roll here) 17-3 four years ago.

It was not a very exciting thing to watch, but most Mount-BW games have not. As a defensive backs coach I kinda liked it.
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

Statistically yes Capital is the best defense in the OAC.  But Mount, I think has the best defense, they had one bad game against ONU, much like Cap had one bad game against Mount.  However, you can't really say Garcon was the only factor. Yeah he made some big plays but Ibeh and Robinson had big runs also and on three consecutive offensive plays from scrimmage at that. I think the reason Capital leads statistically in defense is because Mount struggled against ONU defensively.  They just didn't have an answer for Meadows, mainly in the first half.  But with Muskingum and Heidelberg coming up I would expect Mount to retake the lead statistically in defensive categories.  Just my opinion.

Should be a great game in Bexley this weekend.  Both teams have quite a bit of momentum heading into it.  Being that it's a road game for the Streaks will make things a little tougher (although they've played much better on the road this year).  It'll be an interesting matchup with the two QB's.  Phillips has two straight 400 yard performances, Konrad was catching everything thrown his way yesterday.  Rocky & Co. obviously have the talent to take down any team in the OAC.  Should be fun!

ravishingrabbi

reality check - o'reilly who? oh yeah...he's the one who rushed for 106 yards yesterday as cap ruined onu's season...4th straight 100 yard game, 5th of the season...not too bad...does that ring a bell? he obviously wasn't good enough to see the field for onu though.

if cap can beat jcu and get a playoff bid, maybe i can convince him to sign an autograph for you after cap's first playoff game, seeing as how you're his biggest fan.

Quoteif cap can beat jcu and get a playoff bid

I wouldn't get too excited about the playoffs even with a win over JCU.  Typically a one loss record gets a team in, not 8-2.  I don't THINK (obviously this is pure speculation) that the expanded playoffs will get an 8-2 team in.

Interesting note:
BW's press release said nothing about the fact that their consecutive winning season streak is over.  I thought that since the college seemed to mention it at every turn, they would at least put a quick blurb about it in the Mount/BW release.

With all due respect, you're making something out of nothing here.  I didn't knock O'Reilly when we had our discussion in the off-season.  In fact, you talked about him being the best RB in the OAC I believe and I would still put him about 3rd or 4th in the league.  He has had a solid year but by no means would I say he has blown me away.  He's a solid RB.  And given the play of Meadows and Garrod, he might not have seen the field at ONU either.

His team won fair and square and he had a good day yesterday but I'll take RJ Meadows and his 739 yards, 7.3 yards per carry and 14 TD's any day over O'reilly's 676, 4.5 and 7 TD's.  CAP deserved to win so I am not knocking them.  I will knock you though for acting like 106 yards on 27 carries with 0 TD's and an INT on an ugly halfback option is not exactly a ground-breaking performance.

Again congrats to CAP and I am glad for O'Reilly and his day but I think your point is kind of weak.
