I hope that post gave you whatever satisfaction you were looking for.  I still think ONU deserves to be in the playoffs as much as Capital.  I also think you have a few teams to thank for being in.  I admit, I was wrong about Capital getting in.

Just wondering if you'll post the team season stats on your site through the week? I've been looking over Mt. St. Joseph's team stats and they look as though they're in for some serious punishment against the Raider defense!  And nearly 200 yds less offense to boot!

great job on ESPNnews and with your "midnight oil" predictions!! 31 out of 32 pretty good, it was surprising to see Wilkes make it as well but with one of their losses to Del Valley, seems like it was a fair choice, even though a loss to William Paterson probably doesnt bode well with others in the east wanting that shot.

Congrats to you guys for your cakewalk to the Stagg...Hopefully we can get through the gauntlet and make it an all purple Stagg!!  See you in a few weeks hopefully!  ;)

skunks sidekick- "To be honest, as a Mount fan I would have loved to see ONU to get in, and for us to get a chance to play them again.  I would bet my stock of purple suckers that the result would be different."

You'll get your chance next year in Ada. SCOREBOARD! Won't any of you so called Mount fans meaning some excluded give ONU any props for beating you on your own turf.

One thing is for sure, these polar bears will not be hibernating this winter.

Good luck to CAP. The OAC has the srongest conference and it is your duty to represent us well unlike BW. ONU CAP game has to be OAC Game of the Year. A career long field goal that got 1 team into the playoffs and left the other pissed off and hungry.

This years Mr. Obvious Trophy goes to our week 1 winner Joe Fincham at Witt. "CAP is obviously a great team and we didn't do the things necessary to win, obviously."

Capital is in the playoffs...

Holy crap, have we come a long way from my time there...

I am now figuring out how to rearrange my schedule to make it to the game.  I swore several years ago that if Cap ever made the playoffs, I would be there.

Now if this freaking army stuff would cooperate... Priorities, priorities...

I'm giddy like a schoolgirl...

reality check

I know a couple pages back someone asked about OAC awards predictions.  Having looked over the OAC statistics here are my predictions:

OAC Coach of the Year: Real tough decision.  I thought about OTT's Loth but I'm just not sold.  I thought about Collins but he has won the award in 01 and 03.  After much contemplation I vote for Dean Paul because I thought he was deserving last year and with all the turmoil that ONU went through on and off the field, to repeat at 8-2 was pretty impressive.  I would like to think this is not a homer vote; when I stack everyone up I point to Dean Paul for his combined first two years in the OAC.

Asst. Coach of the Year: Jim Bickel D-Coordinator of CAP because his work with that defense has been markedly improved since last season.

Mike Gregory Award: Tom Manning on the line and Doug Phillips as a back.  I admit I am least knowledgable regarding linemen because without getting to see games in person, I do not get a great idea here.  Manning was a first-teamer last year and the Raider offense had another great year.  The entire  line only game up 14 sacks on the year.  Phillips gets the nod by elimination of upperclassmen to me.  I know the OAC awards tend to find their way into the older guys' arms.  I would say that Meadows had the best year of any running back and he ain't getting it as a frosh.  Regarding the QB's, Pentello and Phillips have eerily similar stat lines and Phillips is the senior.  Jorris just doesn't do it for me, primarily because he doesn't seem to match up with his predecessors at Mount and  like it or not, that fact probably comes into play.

Ed Sherman Award: Scott Casto from MUC.  He just had a better year on paper than anyone else.  He is the only 1000 yard receiver and 10 TD man.  This is a talented pool though with honorable mention going to Cap's Kraft/Howes, OTT's Ricardo Lenhart, and ONU's Brian Lee.

Paul Hoernemann Award: Since Jason Trusnik was injured, this award easily goes to BW's Steve Lewis.  OAC-leading 11 sacks and 16 TFL on the year.

Bill Edwards Award: Even though he's only a sophomore, I think OTT's Kieran Johnson has a good shot.  He led the OAC in tackles with 117, was fourth in the OAC in sacks with 6.5, and INT and 3 forced fumbles.

Lee Tressel Award: By far the toughest call.  You have JCU's Fanelli, OTT's Whaley, MUC's Watson, CAP's Kyle Hausler and ONU's Midlam and Hostetler.  There's no way to make this call fairly and someone will have a problem with every guess I make so I will stick with my guns and say Rusty Midlam.  Midlam has the school record for career INT's and this year co-led the OAC in INT's and finished tied for second in passes defended with 14.  So many guys deserve serious consideration on this one so it's a total guess.

Congratulations to Cap! Well deserved. Wish I could make it to the game. Good luck and do the OAC proud.

I would give an award to the entire Berg  Team and Coaches for hanging in there for an O-10 season. Better days are ahead!!!!

Is that because the season is now over?? :)

Seriously though, it's got to be difficult.  I've seen teams tear themselves apart out of frustration from inability to put together a win.  It seems like they may be able to move forward in the future.  Like I said before, I really think the OAC is leveling out.  We'll see what happens.
And for the students, another full drawer of clean undies!
