l39eagle,

Would you please quit whining?  You are starting to sound like an ONU version of Toph.

I agree 100%.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

JK,

If I do indeed drive I will definitely let you know.  The route from Rock Hill takes me up 75 through Lexington.  I think I am going to have to consider taking another personal day on Friday and making the drive to Naperville.  I will let you know.  Should make this decsiion by tomorrow.

I figured my last post would get a rise out of you and you certainly didn't disappoint.  It is a humbling experience to be told by the board "zen master" to"knock it off"!  Thanks for putting a smile on my face for the rest of the day!

Great weekend for CU...very happy for the 25+ SR's on the team.

Toph,
I know you think ONU is just as deserving.  I realize this after arguing about  it for three days.

However, somebody must think Capital is the better team even though they have the same record as Northern ..  I don't know how they could come to such a conclusion (Capital 16 ONU 14), but they did and put Capital in the playoffs.

The selection was made.  I think all OAC fans should be excited and root the OAC.  I know I did no matter what team was selected in years past.

eagle,

Thanks for the nickname.  I think I am gonna run with it.  I like The Zen Master. Its got a great ring to it.

Let's not rehash the CAP / ONU debate again. No doubt ONU is a better team than some if not most that qualified. The bottom line is any two loss team is at the mercy of the selection committee. Better to take care of business and control your own destiny on the field every Saturday and remove all doubt or face these consequences.

I agree completely with your last post.  Had ONU played a better game themselves or gotten a little lucky and had that kick sail wide, we would not be talking about "shoulda, coulda, woulda's".

ONU dropped the ball and was foreced to hope and pray as a result.  The fact that the AFCA dropped ONU way back when in the season was the only sign I needed to know ONU wouldn't be getting any benefit of the doubt.  ONU, in my opinion, needed to go 9-1 and get the AQ for the OAC to think they would be playing this weekend.  Although I do admit when I saw Osh Kosh and a couple others losing I began getting my hopes up at the long shot of all long shots.

Good luck to MUC and CAP this weekend.  No first round exits from the OAC in this tourney!!!

I have been lurking for the most part.  I post occassionally and do not read often enough to stay current.  What happened on ONU's suspension?  Did this come into play in their not being selected?  I know that nobody knows what shapped the committees decision but the selection committee.

Minimizing travel certainly caused some inequities too.

However I have a great deal of sympathy for the committee.  I would hate being the one trying to figure out which teams go and which do not.  There are a lot of good teams not going.  Are there some weaker teams going?  Maybe.  Should the selection eliminate automatic selection of some league champions.  Who makes the decision what conferences should get an automatic and which ones should not?

All I know is I have my MUC tickets for Saturday and say a big Go Raiders

For those of you who didn't know, the last two MUC games I have seen in person are the loss to Mary-Hardin Baylor in last year's playoffs and the ONU game this year.

Heck, I have been to the Rowan loss and several others.  It does not keep me from going.  I do not feel that I am a jink or anything because have been there for far more many wins!  I sat through that miserable weather at the ONU game, in fact now, I have sat through miserable weather for two ONU games in a row(last year in Ada).  Is there a trend there?

One thing is for sure, these polar bears will not be hibernating this winter.

As long as your not practicing during the winter that's fine.

Any takes on how the MOUNT_MOUNT game should go other than the who wins who loses thoughts? Any of you guys know much about this other MOUNT team? ???

Ohio Polar Bear...
I just could not resist the comeback.  I have nothing but respect for ONU and witnessed their defeat of MUC in person.  You have a very good team and a bright future!  FYI...I went to OU not MUC but grew up in Alliance and have always followed the program. Take care.
