GO BLUE GO BENGALS GO CRUSADERS

Alter and CJ  lost last weekend.  I can't remember who Alter lost to but CJ lost to Clyde in OT.  My dad and father in law told me about the CJ game and it was a heartbreaker.  CJ started with possession in OT, and on the first or second play they ran the ball to the one yard line.  Four tries from the one and nothing.  So Clyde gets the ball at the 20 for its possession and proceeds to lose 4 yards on three downs.  4th and 14 from the 24 yard line, the kicker kicks a career long 41 yarder to win.

What the hell is it with kickers making career long 40+ yard field goals against my schools this year?

A somewhat rhetorical question (and open slam on the Columbus Disgrace errr, Dispatch newspaper)...

If a D3 team from Columbus makes it into the playoffs...

and it is Ohio State-Michigan week...

Does anyone know about it????

(for those of you who don't know the Columbus Dispatch devotes about 5 pages to Ohio State football a day and about 3 lines of copy to the other Colleges around Columbus that play football.  I wonder if Cap won the National Championship if the "local" paper would even cover it???)

This talk about the little Mount is silly.  Wheaton played them last year and while respectable, they just were not that good.  And honestly, Wheaton was almost a great team last year, but not top 10 material.  Conclusion based on experience with both Mounts?  A 40 point game.

I am more interested in the Capital/North Central game.  That one should be a great one, yet no one is talking about it.

I hope MSJ has enough room on their bulletin board for all this. I feel the Purple Raiders are indeed favorites. I also think MSJ is looking for the opportunity of a lifetime.
I hate it when a team is just written off.  I bet MSJ hasn't written themselves off. More importantly, I hope MUC hasn't written them off.

They did have a nice article when they got the bid, but the overall coverage does suck!
I think bad weather or good weather the D will be too much for NCC.  It will be a field position game and Cap will win that battle.

1.)  Post Patterns is not bulletin board material.  We are pretty irrelevant to the coaches and players.

2.)  The OAC has destroyed the HCAC champs in previous years and those teams looked better on paper than MSJ does this year.  I know you can't bank on the past but I think most will acknowledge that we take what we know and base our opinions on that.  I know that MSJ barely beat Wilmington.  Wilmington is a bottom feeder team.  I know that the OAC runner-up has handled the HCAC champ in the past.

3.)  In first round games (which MUC has not needed to play in the 28-team field) since 1999, the OAC is 4-0 and has an average margin of victory of 27.5 points.  Two of those games were against HCAC champ Hanover with outcomes of 56-14 and 54-32.

I would like to see a competitive game between MSJ as much as anyone but the odds are stacked heavily against them.  I hope I am wrong about the outcome so that the game is one everyone can enjoy.  And if I am wrong, I will be here apologizing Satruday evening.

This is just message board talk by fans. If you think that Coach Kehres and his team are overlooking MSJ then you are largely mistaken. You don't have a 99 game conference win streak by overlooking anyone. One of the constants over the past 15 years is that MUC does not overlook anyone and takes it one game at a time.

..... Each team that has beaten MUC had played them before.

Actually MHB did exactly that last year.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Reality,
It's been a tough year for the GCL North this year. Bacon had Indian Hill beat, they were up 36-21 with 9 minutes left, but their stupid coach decided to keep throwing the ball instead of running it. That is twice now that he has lost playoff games with big leads. I really thought Alter had a chance. Sorry to hear about CJ. Those darn kickers!! They don't do anything all day in practice and they come in and take all the glory!lol

AngryWhiteman,
I actually coach grade school over at St. Antoninous. 8th grade. Next year I might go over to one of your rivals, Lasalle. I was asked to help out over there. I coached a few good players this year that are heading to Elder. We played in The Pit for the championship game and boy is that an awesome place. MSJ should've bagged the new stadium and played there. It gets pretty loud.

tdubs,

We were wondering if we were gonna see this past weekend.  I made the trip up from South Carolina.  Final score for the weekend: Tequila 1 E Lee 0 but I fought the brave fight.  Besides Tequila didn't fight fair.  Tequila had some help from jagerbombs and whatever shots Willis and Mac bought me.  I can't remember.

ace and rc,

I think coaches read Post Patterns more than you think.  However they realizae taht most of us are pretty much uninformed, i.e. Toph
