Just calling it like I see it Rscl70 and letting the frigging little NCAC'ers smite my Karma.

Geez, Seventies, I'm sorry. I forgot that, in order to be a D3 fan you have to worship the engorged ego of the Cult of Mount Union. Sorry. I forgot that there are no real #1 seeds unless they're in Alliance. I forgot that there are no football teams outside of Ohio. I think there should be a 4 round bye straight to Salem for Mount Union. Maybe we should do that. We should have playoffs where there are 32 teams, 23 other than the OAC of course, then the winner of that gets to go to Salem to play Mount Union.

Why is it so hard to admit that we aren't the worst team in the history of the D3 playoffs?

And skunks, you're still ducking the Coach Creighton issue.

If a poster on the NCAC board posted a veiled rip on your head coach would you not come over and discuss it?

Mount a bye to the Stagg?????  Hmmm.....ok.   ;D

My point in saying Wabash was a pretender was not a comment on whether they were a good football team or not.  It was strictly a comment on whether they were a legitimate #1 seed or not.  Many on this board, non-OAC ers included, thought not.

Lil' Giant - my bad, I retract that statement.  I am sure Creighton is a good guy, who learns from his mistakes.

When some loud braggart tries to put me down
And says his school is great
I tell him right away
Now what's the matter buddy
Ain't you heard of my school
It's number one in the state

So be true to your school now
Just like you would to your girl or guy
Be true to your school now
And let your colors fly
Be true to your school

Rah rah rah Be true to your school

It's funny, Capital's coaches, players and fans all had high praise for Wabash and the team. It was a hard fought struggle.

I suppose Trinity wasn't deserving of a #1. I guess UMHB wasn't, either, like many said they should have been.

And I suppose we know who has class in the OAC, the ones who can respect other conferences and teams.

Seeds are not a prediction of postseason performance, but are a reflection of regular season performance.  Had ANY team from the OAC or CCIW gone undefeated in the regular season, they would have been top seeds way before Wabash.  Saying that Wabash wasn't a legit #1 seed is wrong.  Wabash was the ONLY #1 seed that the committee could have picked.  The rest of the teams in the region didn't give the committee a choice.  You've got your third home game.  Why the sour grapes?

Common  Ric- J.Hall was a redshirt also.

Borchert, Tyla, Knestrick and I believe another all started in the playoffs in 94'

Great game by MUC today. But bottom line is they beat up a team that they should have.

Sad to see the poor fan attendance.... 2nd round of the playoffs...and neither side was full.... Pretty clear how spoiled the fans are and already expect a trip to Salem.... Of course I request the friday before the stag off in FEB(every year), but I still make it out to support before that.

I didn't make a return to the post for me, I did it

Given the way the year played; ie ONU beating Mount, Capital beating ONU, I'm really glad that we have this second meeting to see who is best at this point. Now that I have made all the nasty remarks about "The Awesome Capital Offense", here's hoping this isn't the week they finally appear. It will be interesting to see how a very different looking Mount offense fairs against the Capital D which I'm pretty sure I haven't said anything but good stuff about all year.

One must wonder what Cap's coaches are thinking at this point. I also wonder what Mount does , if any thing, different to prepar for the rematch. IMO, If I were LK, I wouldn't change a damn thing 8)

Considering A: The Weather, B: The Holiday Weekend and C: The Fact that school has been out of session since Tuesday, I'd call it a pretty good turn out. Pretty small Augie turnout for many of the same reasons plus a very long drive.

Oh yeah,  I forgot that D: Historically we thought this was the first week of the playoffs

B4 - whats it gonna take to get you up here again?? :P

Nope.  Everyone in the nation knew Trinity wasn't going to live up to their #1 ranking.  Same with Wabash.  True #1 seeds don't lose in the 2nd round to teams that went 8-2.   PERIOD.  Don't care the circumstances.   Look around the 4 regions and you'll see that the known #1 seed pretenders are gone after Round 2.  Trinity? Gone.  Wabash? Gone.  Linfied is obviously worthy of their #1 seed.  Del Valley was a ? mark, but they held up their end of the deal.  Look on the bright side, at least you didn't lose to Albion in the 1st Round ;D

Congrats to CAPITAL for making the North Region Final the OAC Championship game once again.  You've done the league proud!  Once again I find it rather fitting that only the flaming pile of BW has lost a playoff game as the 2nd OAC team before seeing MUC again. ;D

Congrats to MUC on their first complete 60 minute game since JCU in week 2.  Not in a million years did I think MUC would play the way they did today!  That was the best game they've played in a couple years plus.  On both sides of the ball.   The O-line was as dominant as you could ever ask for and Kmic was The Man today.  In only half a season he has displayed more vision and toughness as an TB than anyone since Moore and Pugh.  He needs to back that up game by game  before I even think about putting him on that level,  but he's shown a lot more than Strauch, Ciccone or Robinson ever did.   Nate, welcome to the Mount Union record book!   Very impressed by the defense today as well.  Had a little trouble with the option in the 1st half, but that was taken care of at halftime and they played lights out after that.  Holding that running game to 7 points was fantastic.  Congrats and good luck next week vs Cap!

Pat No more blowouts this week?

Said no more easy games -- not no more blowouts. All the weak conference champs were out after the first round, the point being.

Hammer and His Merry Band of Half-Wits:  Thanks for not being total A-holes the last few weeks.

For the record, no one would have ever had a problem with you if you had been cheering like this over the years.  It was your calling out the opposing playes and coaches by name, and making fun of an injured player that was across the line.   I'm glad you're loud, just leave the obnoxious part in the parking lot.
