Mount has to beat CAP and Rowan must beat Delaware Valley, for Mount to host.  If DV wins, the winner of CAP-Mount will travel.

If CAP and Rowan win, I believe CAP is travelling...without checking brackets  I believe that DV is a #1, Mount a #2,
Rowan a #3, and CAP a #4...

Higher seeds have been hosting, unless field conditions don't allow...(again, this is not etched in stone, with the  NCAA)

Did AJ Workman get any PT on MUC JV this year?

I didn't see any rushing stats for the JV Games on Ric's site.

I looked at those stats after game 3 (I think) and I'm sure I saw Workman's name and some decent numbers. If you add QB completions and then add receptions you'll find that at least one QB must be missing from the stats. Whether it was a space issue or just an oversight, its a luxury to have the numbers that Ric has provided.

Ric

The JV stats are there in with the JV Schedule.  The RB you mentioned, along with a QB, are no longer with the team and their stats are absent from the final tally.  What you see there is what you can expect back in Purple next year.

Ric

OU #25 it was good seeing you as well but please do not blame your singing ability on drinking.  That isn't fair to drinking. ;D

To answer your question, if Mount wins they would host Rowan and travel to Delaware Valley, which is a bit north of Philadelphia I am told.

Also OU #25 I know we have talked about this and I have already said it but Mount looked better to me last weekend than they have since beating Trinity.  I think LK is going to win another championship.

BTW Tale of the Tape is up, should be a good one Saturday in Alliance...

Any of the Mount faithful,
Is there a way for me to call ahead and reserve some seats for the game on this weekend?  I think you will be seeing quite a few Polar Bears there and I wouldn't doubt them cheering on the RRRRAAAAAAIIIIIIDDDDDDAAAASSSS!

Ric,
I agree with your statement there, gotta beleive with the way the team is peaking now and a potent running attack, the Senior D wants # 8 big time!!!
I'm sure LK had some idea how close Kmic was to breaking Chuck's SG rushing record, but for anyone interested he was only 16 yds shy of breaking the SG rushing record for Dlll period for the year! Doing what he did in a playoff scenario, is really unheard of!
GO RAIDERS !!

Not to get the cart before the horse but if you were wondering should Delaware Valley beat Rowan  and Mount beat Cap the drive to Del Valley is basically 400 miles from Alliance, mostly PA turnpike...... Ask PAt Cummings he's becoming familiar with it!  ;D LOL
from Columbus...well....you Cap guys can figure that one! JK, hope to meet up this time!

moe45:  If you're making the trip to Alliance, let us know as I'm always up for meeting OAC posters.

And for the record, if ONU would have made it instead of Cap, I still would have expected an all OAC North Region Final.  In fact, I was hoping for it!

On the "Tale of the Tape", the numbers thru 12 games that stick out to me are:

MUC offense:  5.8 yards per rush
Capital Defense:  1.9 yards per rush given up

MUC offense: 15 sacks given up
Capital defense:  52 sacks for -299 yards

Looking forward to a great game in Alliance.  Hopefully Mother Nature cooperates.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Cap99Fan,

You wouldn't know it from Sunday's or Monday's paper though.  If you were an outsider you would think that OSU was the only football playing school in town.  Granted, they are the "big boy" and if they want to devote most of Sunday's paper to the latest OSU news and recap, fine.  But at least consistently put in a release from the smaller schools on a later page.  Only occasionally did they have a column devoted to the smaller schools in the area, and usually that was an AP "around Ohio Colleges" type of release.  Perhaps they could run the scores on Sunday and do more in-depth stuff in Monday's edition.

But it is not just the Dispatch.  In Columbus there are also many radio and TV stations as well.  They never usually mention Capital or any of the others either.

Hey Cap99Fan it has been that way for a long time.  I have never understook it either.  OSU is way over covered.  You hear when one of the players sneezes.  But I have a feeling that the paper prints what sells and the combined number of OAC grads and students in the Columbus area is around a couple of years of grads from OSU.  Write Znidar and let him know how you feel.  I have.  Maybe if he hears from enough of us there will be more coverage.

BTW, Sunday's coverage is about the most I have seen.  I mean capital got what 2/3 of the top 1/3 of the page while Mount got the other 1/3.  That I think is more space that I have evers seen, even in their football preview guide.

A great Mount Union defense has been carrying the Raiders. Kmic gained a lot of yards against, frankly,a soft d-line.He also gained the confidence of his offensive line, which is much more important. This is a far better team than the one Cap played in the regular season.

reality check

I would venture to say that both teams are better now then they were in the first game this year.  The real question is whether or not CAP is more improved than MUC.  Of course, history is on MUC's side as second time around matchups in the playoffs tend to be very lopsided.  I hope it's a great game in Alliance.
OAC Champs: 1942 (one title ties us with Ohio State)
OAC Runners-Up: 2017, 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2005, 2004, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1982, 1941 (Stupid Mount Union!)
MOL Champs: 1952, 1950

Cap99Fan,

The two teams?  In the readership area of the Dispatch, there is Cap and OTT (which I assume are the two you are referring to), but there is also Ohio Wesleyan and Ohio Dominican.  You might even consider Denison as "in the area" the Dispatch covers.  I know for HS football they cover all the way out to Granville.

That is kinda what I am talking about. The only reason I know about OTT is because we play them. I don't normally call in or write but I guess I will have to start. With the DIII football I have seen this year they are missing  some great football. With all the OSU football coverage there doesn't seem to be enough room to cover anything else.

I love this site. Thanks for all the information guys!!

Go CAP !!!!!!

skunks_sidekick

I, like a lot of you, roam through the various conference and region boards on this site to learn about the other teams still alive, and to see what their fans are thinking, and saying.  Here are some observations and a few questions.

WEST - The MIAC, WIAC, and NORTHWEST boards are by far the livliest, craziest, and at times the most provocative on here.  Between Linfield's "phone it in", and SJ's "monkey stomp" (learned from the RPI posters I believe), they are quite the bunch.  Mind you, I am a big believer that to be the man, you have to beat the man, so I completely respect Linfield's position.  The WIAC seems to have overcome a big stumbling block by beating the Johnnies.  They are no longer "the toughest conference who has nothing left for the playoffs" any more.  I think the Linfield/WW game will be a great one.

SOUTH - whether it's their southern upbringing, or the fact that they don't have to deal with the crappy weather like WE do, they seem the most friendly, fun, and interesting.  I am specifically referring ot the Bridgewater folks.  They are very loyal supporters to their team, and also have great fun in talking some smack, and just having a general good time.

EAST - these folks seem to have the most "lingo", the biggest chip on their shoulder (due to the national D-III perception that they are "soft"), and still have a great back and forth before games.

NORTH - other than a few exceptions (my distaste for most things that are NCAC due to their heavy play of the "academic card" a few years ago), we seem as a bunch to get along quite well.  The smack talk is minimal, the football talk is at a high level.  I wonder if it is because we seem to have an older group that posts on here compared to some, or there is some other reason that it is so.

With Capital's great accomplishment to get to the regional final, I was expecting a bit more smack from their faithful, of which there are many.  Possibly, it's that old, "to be the man, you have to beat the man" syndrome.  But I truly believe that there is just a general respect amongst OAC folks (well other than everyone's obvious distaste for all that is B-W  ;D), and I also think with Mount still showing that they are not ready to vacate the throne just yet, it's more of a situation normal type deal.

Your thoughts, anyone?  (Ok, so I am bored at work and have to pretend like I am composing a new campaign for a furniture store.....humor me).   ;)
