Moe,

You had to go ruin my fun.  I was hoping for a reply from a MUC fan.

I know all o-linemen hold.  I was one.  The fact that I wasn't a very good one meant I held more than the others.  In fact, my coaches told me after my senior year that I led the OAC in penalties and penalty yards (although penalties against an individual are not an official stat that is kept by the OAC, we as a team led the OAC in both categories and I led the team with 10 holding penalties, yes, that is one per game, and three personal fouls).  Not something to be proud of, but it's what I got!

Still missing picks from:

With 25 of the 29 Pick-Em contestants posted, the spreads for Round 3 appear to be the best of the year as 3 of the 4 games are split right down the middle.  Only the MUC/Cap game is lopsided, but I've yet to figure out how to set a MUC spread that you guys will pick 50/50.  ???   It seems regardless of the points given, everyone picks MUC.

Anyway, here's the Round 3 has shaken out:

Mount Union over Capital at 23-2

Rowan over Del Valley at 13-12

Wesley over B'Water at 13-12

Linfield over Whitewater at 13-12

You probably said the same thing the week on the Northern game too. Nobody has a chance to beat the mighty MUC. Bla bla bla!!!

Actually he didn't.  For lack of anything better to do (ie. work), I decided to re-read that week's posts.  It was a good week for some of us  ;).  hscoach didn't say anything arrogant or inflammatory.  He just provided his normal good football talk in the week prior to the game.  And when he did come back on after the ONU/MUC game his first post said this:

And one more thing.  To blame the MUC loss this week due to brain cramps on LK's part is rathering demeaning to the fact that ONU played a perfect game.  How about giving credit where credit is due?

I suspect he, as well as many MUC posters will act the same way if Capital can come out of Alliance with a W.  They don't lose often but when they do lose, the good people of Mount Union handle it well.

Are any of the Raider faithful surprised that we have not had a "los Raiders" sighting this far into the playoffs?

Stoonk, I miss your inspirational chatter.

I don't.

RC:  I'd say "Thanks for the back-up with Cap99", but he doesn't understand the conversation anyway.  So I'll save the "thanks" for a discussion with someone that matters.

This is a great week for OAC football . . . reminds me of 2002.   This is a dream for the rest of the DIII finalists, OAC beating up on OAC, probably one of the few ways to beat us.   Obviously, I'd love to see my Streaks in this game, but this post season success by two OAC teams just solidifies our standing among the DIII football elite when it really matters most, in the post season.

JK

Moe,

Sorry about what, ruining my fun, or me being the holdingest O-lineman in the history of the OAC?

moe45daddy

JK- The whole ruining the fun thing.  I would say that if you avereged one hold per game then you got the job done a good portion of the time. It's only illegal if you get caught.

I'm won't go so far as guaranteeing a MUC blowout win.  But I will guarantee that if both teams play their best, MUC wins.  If both teams play poorly, MUC wins.  It MUC plays well and Cap doesn't, MUC wins by 20+.

Thanks for that bit of encouragement. I guess you are the only one that does matter!

JK

Moe,
Ahh, young jedi, you didn't read properly.  I didn't say I only held once a game.  I said I got whistled for 10 holdings my senior year, and average of one PENALTY per game.

I held every freaking play.  I won't lie like some other guys.  Every play... Jersey, skin, pads, facemask.  You name it.  If I could get a handful of it, I was grabbing it.
