Good one.  ;)

JT-Did you guys ever name that Owl mascot? My late brother insisted his name should be Owen for Rowan's Stagg Bowl record. You know: 0 and ---   :P
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

JT

zman,

I'm still amazed when the hatred for Rowan exceeds rational thinking.  The BC fans doth protest too much, methinks.

JT

70's,

As an admistrator at the school zman may know if the owl is named.  BTW... I liked reading your brother's game stories.  The man could write his ass off.  He is missed.

seventiesraider

Thanks JT, I just had to throw that one in for him.

Thank God I don't have any of that stuff   ::)

I'd be angry if I wasn't laughing so hard.

In truth, in 1999 I referred to the Owl as the old SOB...as in, "Streak Over Baby!"   ;D

JT,

Hope to see you Friday night!  Since it was brought up on this board, I thought I would ask about Bridgewatergate and the clock ordeal.  Rowan obviously was robbed and even the NCAA recognized that fact... but here's the question I've never heard an answer for...

If the official game clock is kept on the field with the Refs...Why didn't at least one of them say something about it and just end the game prior to Bridgewater getting off that last play which resulted in the winning score?  That seems like an obvious thing to me since their keeping the "correct" time anyhow.  This would circumvent the angry clock operators union in the future.

Just curious...

If you're going to be where i think you will on friday, with Karioke, does that mean your going to sing "Another one bites the Dust"?  ;D Hope to catch ya then!

OU#25

No...I won't be singing anymore.  However I sense that song may be sung by others around Alliance at about 2:52pm Saturday.

JT

OU #25,

A couple of things could have happened:

1) At some point during the final seconds (less than 30), the ref with the field watch/clock... went ahhh the clock op is on... he can take in the rest of the way.

2) Thought their own clock was out of synch and the scoreboard was correct.

3) Knew something was wrong and didn't do anything about it.

For number 1) That should never happen, a clock malfunction can happen at any time.

For number 2)  All field officials should be counting down in there head with under 10 seconds.  ie ...3 (1000), 2 (1000) , 1 (1000) OK this game is over unless there is a penalty.

For number 3) No stones and/or the figured there wouldn't be any proof.

The only people that know the truth are the officials and the NCAA.  You'd get more information out of the Warren Commission.

I've also been told that the NCAC football officials are generally considered among the worst in the country.  Those were NCAC official that day.

JT

OU# 25,

I haven't heard from Ric yet.  I lost my cell recently, my brother will take his but I don't know the number off the top of my head.  I'll email his cell number tonight or tommorrow to both you and Ric.

See you then.  Should be fun.

Since the board is kind of dead, I took a look toward 2006.  Assuming everyone agrees that the top of the OAC next year will be either ONU, Cap or MUC, those are the teams I looked at.  Please note this is based on the 'year' that the college published for each player, not necessarily their actual year for eligibility purposes.  So it's possible that I have a player listed as a senior when they have another year of eligibility left if they choose to use.  Therefore I'd like any input from those that know otherwise.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.
