Yes Mt has great talent each year but its the fact that they are the most fundamentally sound team in D3football that makes them great. Fundamentals will overcome gadget plays and spot talent more often than not. Like to the tune of 8 National Championships in 13 years.

You have dicovered the secrect that has been hidden in plain sight.  Some of us have tried to point this out in the past, but most would rather seek some sinister reason for Mount's success than to recognize and admire the pure hard work and great coaching that has produced this most amazing program.

Runyr-Thanks for the "love" Merry Christmas and Phi Alpha. Might want to help out our brother, TheaProf as well.

In leu of cards I have been sending karma out to all the familiar and not so familiar OAC CCIW NJAC and ODAC posters here each of the last three mornings, so Merry Christmas to all. And to whoever I offended so deeply you are still wacking my karma every night, may your days be merry and bright. (Oh and get a life ... or at least send me an email and lets talk about it.) It's time to live in peace for a week or so.

Yup.  What they said!

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

I found one interesting aspect of this past season that wasn't mentioned much on this board, or at least not to the level where I saw it.

Did Mount have any D-I transfers this year starting?  For some reason, I think not.  For a team that in previous years was accused of doing something unethical, or at the least outside the spirit of D-III football, due to their supposed myriad of former D-I players on their roster, I find that interesting.

I have wandered through the various boards on this site, and many fans are hoping that this D-I guy, or that D-I guy ends up at their school.  Everyone is looking for the next Elliot.

Just think, Mount did it with good ole D-III talent.  Go figure!   ;D  (And no, I DO NOT want Justin Zwick to transfer to Mount.  I like our quarterback situation just fine.  Besides, he probably couldn't crack the lineup.)

runyr, Tony Rice is a friend.  Met him about a year ago.  Here's a pic taken in August at my house.  He is one great guy.  Picked ND because Lou won over his grandmother by doing card tricks, LOL.  I am not really that short, he's standing on a box.

It appears Tony Rice is 7'2".

I'm not at ALL a fan of this grade school karma CR*P.  Maybe some nuns from Pat's grade school gave him the idea for it.  It's way dumb.  (I will be minus brownie points for this post for sure.)

Actually, I'm not a big fan of how it's being used, either. It came standard with the software but I'm hoping they find a way to improve it in the future.

Agreed, Pat. The current "karma" feature is being prostituted, just as the old "star" thing was (e.g., the late-but-unlamented "One-Star Bandit").

4u, he looked pretty silly in those platform shoes but I wasn't going to tell him...

Actually we were standing on an incline and I was on the wrong side... I know, I know.

Incline or not, you could have at least stood for the photo.  You win a couple of Pick Em's and suddenly you don't think you should have to get up for photos???

For those of you that are interested, I wrote a small novel on the "immediate thoughts of week 16" blog in response to the contention that the North Region would suck without MUC.  I would appreciate some feed back from the OAC regulars to see if they agree with my historical assessment.  Please check it out and let me know if you agree or not.

THANKS

RC:  You want to know the really sad part?  Ric was already standing on a 5 gallon bucket in that photo....... ;D
