I just got off of D3Football.com and found that Capital was ranked fifth in the final poll.  Way to go Cap!

Now that Mount has won the Stagg Bowl, I have worry about OSU beating ND!

Was this year perhaps the best coaching job done by LK and company?  Just a question that has been rolling around in my head.

Being the arm chair coach that I am I thought over all the play calling was conservative.  I thought they really needed to open up the passing game more.  That aside, they won the national championship playing it the way they did.  What do I know!  Maybe I was just hoping for the more exciting days of Ballard and Borchert when the bomb was the ultimate weapon!

I felt for Ebey at the end of the season.  He worked very hard as a blocking back and he did not touch the ball.  He did lead blocking and he did pass blocking.  Any number of times he picked some body up and Jorris more time.

I think your assessment of the North Region is very fair across the board, and quite precise in judging the North region as the dominant region overall when it comes to the Stagg Bowl with or without Mount in the mix. The only thing i MIGHT say differently is the ranking of "toughest games in 2005" is the Ohio Northern loss to rank  #2 over the UWW game, but Capital is definitely a lock at #1.  Along the same discussion was the familiarity of Mount playing against an OAC team in a rematch, though in most situations Mount has made or figured out the second time how to take their advantages and exploit them it was much more difficult this past playoff vs Capital. I think though this abberration came about for two obvious or more noticeable reasons.
1) the Cap talent overall man or man was a slight edge
2) the MOunt coaching staff was in the "learning" stage compared to past coaching staffs that have had rematches
along the same tangent, I still feel its really unfair for the NCAA to have teams within the same conference play before a semi-final in the playoffs. IF Cap had been in the SOuth or East I feel they are either way playing a semi vs the North or West. Furthermore, Cap and UWW would have been one helluva tilt for a semi, especially the Cap rush D at playoff time and its receiver corp. just IMHO!

OK, next question, though i've seen it asked a number of times and we get different answers, what was your best Mount Playoff run experience?
I  believe mine was the '98 season with the close games going down to the wire almost all the way through and winning over Rowan in the Stagg!

I know they're too hard for you to answer with your feet wrapped up in the chains but give it a shot!  ;D

IT depends on the person if they like close games or blowouts.

Personally I liked all of them. They each give you something different to talk about.

true, i was just looking at excitement level, '98 was non-stop!

I'd have to agree with '98. So many close, exciting games.  I know that I made sure to go to the Stagg Bowl in '97 because I thought we might never be back given everything we were losing to graduation. Of course then Smeck, Marino, Hall and Moore showed up in '98 and.....
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...
