Hate to brake up the lovefest on "O", but a couple MUC recruits were posted in today's Canton Rep:

Mount signs pair

ALLIANCE Central Catholic High School's Brent Crawford and Green's Nathaniel Porter will attend school and play football at Mount Union College.

Crawford was a linebacker, running back and punter for the Crusaders. The three-year letterwinner and team captain was a first team All-Stark County and honorable-mention All-Northeast Inland District selection last fall.

Porter was an offensive lineman and three-year letterwinner for the Bulldogs. He was named first-team All-Summit County, second-team All-Suburban League and second-team All-Northeast Inland District in 2005.

I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Check the front page.  Glaser left Marietta to return to his Alma Mater.  His former OC is taking over the reins at Marietta.

Millikin is a little better than Westminster in my opinion.  In other words, they're a team I think ONU should beat but also a squad that ONU has to take seriously.  When they played in 2000 it wasn't much of a game (47-21) and I had to read all week about how Millikin was a force the likes of which ONU had never seen.  They are a solid week one game.  I like it.

As for the prospects of 2006, I think there is plenty to be excited about still.  ONU has two great RB's returning, a healthy Trusnik and Alexander back on D, and I am sure there are plenty of guys ready to step up in the holes left by graduation.  The O-Line did get hit hard but I have faith things will fill in nicely.  The defense should still be very nasty.

Lots of things to look forward to in 2006 for the Polar Bears.

Congrats to Arth if the signing does go through.  That would be a good spot for him.  If nothing else, how amazing will it be for him to someday say, I learned to play quarterback in the NFL from Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.  That's pretty incredible.

Now on to Etta.  This has to be a pretty big blow to the Pioneers.  Their D-Coordinator heads to Macalaster.  Their head coach goes up to Eau Claire.  This could be detrimental to their revitalization or it could make them a very dangerous wild card in 2006.  We will all have to wait and see what happens down on the river.  Glaser did some great things for that program though in his short time in Marietta.  Perhaps the biggest impact was his role in raising $2 million for a new football complex down there.

And lastly, looking at the schedules for 2006, I think some have the odds stacked against them.  CAP did an amazing job last year and has a great deal of talent and experience returning but they get jobbed by having to play ONU, Mount Union, John Carroll and Baldwin-Wallace on the road.  At least their opener against Witt is in Bexley.  Their path in 2006 looks tough.  ONU has a neutral schedule in terms of who comes to Ada and where they have to travel.  Mount only gets four home games in 2006 but they got their money's worth having three of those contests in Alliance against John Carroll, Capital and ONU.

This portly purple-preferring poster posesses pent up passion against the previoulsy posted O schools.  I mean nothing personal just remember when we were patsies and had a pugilistic period with the Polar Bears.

Elee,
And that is why you have positive karma! :)

Hey

I give him some karma too.  Anyone that carries that much luggage with them, needs to get all the love people can afford to dish out.

(That and I know he needed six semesters of creative writing at Capital to come up with his alliterative exploits.)

The Packers confirmed today what 4u reported earlier this week.  Great for Arth.  I hope it's a good spot for him on the Tundra.

I just posted Arth's signing with the Packers on the ODAC board where I normally post.  Just checked in with this board to see if it was being discussed.

The Packers have no other QB for their minicamp except for Aaron Rodgers.  Favre does not have to take part in minicamps at this point in his career.  So Arth should get alot of snaps.

Here's hoping one of our D3 kids makes a good impression and makes the 53 man fall roster.

In return, I hope you guys will support Bridgewater's LB Jermaine Taylor as he plays for the NFL Europe's Berlin Thunder.  He is signed by the Tampa Bay Bucs and will be with the Bucs for their training camp after the NFL-EL is over.

Good luck to all the D3 players with a shot at the NFL.

Pak:  We do support all DIII guys with a shot at playing in the league.

We's good folk like 'dat over here on the OAC board.

Seriously, I echo the sentiment of all when I say good luck to all the DIII guys: Arth, Robertson, Fletcher, and your guy Taylor, et. al. as they attempt to make rosters or continue their careers.

pakownr97

Yep, except during the D3 playoffs, we D3 guys stick together.
