Great job on the Ohio Northern Polar Bear Football Newsletter! The Dean of Football has everything headed in the right direction.

RC- Is Neihbor still the HC at Millikin? Did you call the Witt Amherst game?

Could you not continue the crusade against colleges of O cause in conforming the community it capitulates your concession of contempt for colleagues writing columns and it isn't very couth.

Yeah Neibuhr is still at Millikin.  Bob Meyer is not though and I haven't seen his fan website since the last time ONU played them.  Good times though.  Last I read, he played a season or two of arena ball.

I didn't call the Final Four.  I did a women's regional the first weekend of the tourney at Mount Saint Mary in NY and then the Amherst sectional at Amherst for the men the following week.  Both weekends were great but there was plenty of representation in Salem/Springfield and I couldn't miss more work.

Hopefully I get my newsletter soon.  I tend to get my stuff a couple days later than the rest of the world.  Coach Paul is an incredible addition to the Polar Bear family.  I am more and more satisfied by the day.

HScoach... I scored some buy one lasagna, get one free coupons for the Spaghetti Warehouse.  So now when we go to lunch it will only cost me you half as much!

Edited because I cannot tell a lie. Almost, but not quite. ;D

Noticed an interesting oxymoron on the main page of D3football: "Part-Time Coach." Apparently refers to the pay, not the watching film in every spare moment, or drawing plays in your sleep ;D

I see the 'Berg is opening this season with Oberlin.  Interesting matchup...

The school with the current longest losing streak in the country vs. the school with the all-time longest losing streak in D3 history.

Could this be the year that the 'Berg breaks through and gets off the schneid?

They'd better beat Oberlin, because I don't think they can beat another OAC team (including the not quite as horribly pathetic Wilmington Quakers), at least not yet (unless the OAC let Hiram back in when I wasn't paying attention).

Cool.  That means I can eat 2 lunches for the price of one!
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

I guess that means you guys are really going to move on up a division or two.  (It is that time of year where we are supposed to talk about that you know.)

What's the low down on Glaser, former Marietta head coach now just starting at UW Eau Claire?

The UWEC players were to meet him last night and I haven't heard how that went yet.   Rumors were that he's very intense, encouraged fighting in practice etc.  He did institute a mandatory three day/week study table which went over like a lead balloon.  Previously, study table was for those with a less than 2.0 GPA.  Study table was a joke before, with players just screwing around talking etc.  Maybe if Glaser institutes some discipline at study table, it'll be a good thing.

What's the real story?

So this is how the National Enquirer gets its information.

Re: Glaser.  The UWEC players liked him best in the interviews.  Intensity is not a bad thing.  I was hoping to hear from some Marietta players on how their experience with him was.  ....Didn't mean for it to come across as digging for dirt.

Not many Pioneer guys posting in here so I don't know what you'll get.  Pios, where are you at?

I will say that my impression is that Glaser did more for Marietta's football program in just a couple years than anyone expected.  He improved their level of competition and headed up an effort to improve the football facilities.  If he is pushing academics, then he gets another thumbs up from me.  Coach Paul has done wonders academically at ONU with his Academic Game Plan and if Glaser's plan for study tables is anything close, then it means good things for the Blugolds in the classroom.

My biggest question is how long it will take for Eau Claire to start scheduling an opener against an OAC team.  It seems quite probable now because of the ties.

Not sure about the other conference boards but the OAC has enough people with enough free time on their hands to quickly identify and call out any players that post on here.  We welcome you but advise you that your coach would probably like you to avoid these message boards.
