In D3Football/D3Track related news Pierre Garcon ran a 11.27 in the 100 meter dash last Saturday. (For the Track and Field impared, that's pretty good for this time of year and the weather last Saturday)
Same as it ever was...same as it ever was...same as it ever was...

11.27?was he wearing timberlands?is he injured?did he stumble out of the blocks?11.27,and he has elite oac speed, you can't be serious. He has to be faster than that!

jdean

He gave the field a ten meter head start.

frank uible

11.27 electronically timed is a respectable time for DIII.

jdean

10.83 is the provisional qualifying time for the NCAA's in late May. Garcon is a member of the 4x100 that currently has the third best time in D3.

paohca

respectable is not elite.what is the 4x100 time?what is his pr in the 100(accu-trak).was the 11.27 ran in bad weather?i'm just tryin to figure out if the boy can run!!

paohca-- please obtain (if you do not have) and review Stagg Bowl 2005 game. Kmic's run of 95 yards aided by Garcon will give you a nice indication!

The Averett site is pretty good ( http://web.averett.edu/football/footballindex.htm ). I like the wallpaper designs. Does Mount have any? The only one I remember seeing was one of Zac Bruney at QB. Averetts site indicates Coach Dunlevy has coached 3 former #1 NFL picks. I am assuming that was when he was at OSU - but it does not say what he coached. Anyone know?

no doubt he is a great player.does he have the functional speed to play at the next level.I saw the championship game,he scored ,he celebrated,Kehres yelled at him for celebrating, but kept him in there.any other player would have been pulled,I like the kid,I like his attitude.

An independent site established by one of this site's posters, Ric. It will tell you anything and everything about Mount football thru last season. It gets rave reviews and deservedly so.

paohca-- if you mean by next level (NFL)? time will tell. He's very young. There were comments made from an announcer on ESPN that any SEC camp would welcome him. (or something close to that) If you mean that level .    My conversation with coaches on timed speed and what is possible on the field of play can be marginal in the  positive and negative.  Either way, I don't believe we will see this young man's potential realized for 2 more years.  The best part is the same can be said for quite a few of the players on Mount's roster! and that is down right scary :o

paohca: Without knowing more than what has been posted on this board, I suspect he can sprint excellently for a DIII WR, only better than average for a DIII sprinter and only adequately for a NFL WR.

jdean

Frank:
That may be a fair evaluation. His speed on the field is relative to the guys defending him and so far he's never been caught from behind. Maybe somone familiar with Garcon can comment if he's a trained sprinter or just a fast runner runner who offered to help the track team.
