Elvis will be playing DB at Heidelberg next year to test that theory.

10.66,now were talking. And considering the average db in the oac runs 11.8 and up,thats not fair.Someone might have to follow that boy around with a fire extinguisher next year!
Hey Paohca---Some guy last Saturday ran out on the Arcadia Ca. track with a fire extinguisher and sprayed Taft High Jamere Hollands shoes after he ran the 100 meters in 10:36 .Holland was not satisfied with the time and called himself fat and out of shape!!."Jamho" also won the 200 meter run doing 21:09--second fastest time in the nation so far this year.Holland almost enrolled at Mount Union before choosing USC.He was quoted as saying in a local L.A.newspaper it would have been bigtime fun playing for the Might Mount Guys in the Purple outfits. The local Alliance Ohio , fire department needs to follow my man Pierre"Speedo" Garcon around with a fire extinguisher !!Coaches I have shown the "we,re Back" Mount Union 2005 highlight film all say Garcon can play D-1 rght now."Speedo" and "The Skate"-----for 2006 is still a nice mix.

MUC better be careful with Garcon,he might get bored torching d3 db's,take his hi-lite tape and his track times down to Columbus,Tressel,or any other d1 program would sign him in a heart beat.At 10.66,he has excellant d1 speed. And Frank what planet are you living on?The Elvis joke says it all!!!!

Aside Garcon, (whom I have yet to meet) I know of two other Mount players from Florida that were pursued by D1 teams.  Both of which are very happy with their decisions to pursue an  EDUCATION and play at an ELITE level of college sports that does not support them in any financial way. In my opinion, if your good enough to go to the next level, NO ONE deserves it more than the young men right here in D-3.  If it is not meant to be, (next level) where better than COLLEGII MONTIS UNIONIS to play out your football career!

That's how its always been here.  It's up to all of us "inferior" schools to have something to add to the conversation.

How about recruiting?  Anyone have news on their school's progress?  I have heard that ONU has had a very good recruiting year.  It's looking like quality over quantity this year in Ada (although the quantity is still expected to be up there.)

And besides recruiting, what's the biggest question mark for 2006 at each school?

ONU's biggest question mark is the O-line.  THey have some good young kids but lose a lot of experience.

What questions do the other programs have to answer first and foremost in your opinions?

No I am not hiding.  In fact I am spending a few days at Capital.

I saw some impressive things in the weightroom.  It was down right scary what these guys are doing and how hard they are working.  My senior year(2001) we went 7-3, breaking the long string of losing at Capital.  The group I saw lifting and running the last two days definitely pass the "eyeball test" much better than my playing days.  QBs and WRs are working out with the weights that LBs and OLs were doing "in my day".  Seeing these guys in the wieghtroom and listening to Coach Collins and his staff have me excited about next season.

Cannot wait til football season.

i think for mount the biggest obstical for them to overcome will be finding a group of  guys to gel and play as well as the defensive front 6 (or 7 depending on how you look at it) 2 of  the guys are back from last year, rees and stickley, but its gonna be hard to fill the holes that the other guys left.

Ohio State Jersey change causes furor.

Is this recent earthquake in Lake Erie off the coast from Ashtabula related?

I might be way off base here but you have no idea being from sunny Florida what taking away the gray from the scarlet and gray really means.  We don't hate maize.  We don't hate blue.  We hate the maize and blue.  They hate the scarlet and gray.  It does actually bug the hell out of me personally.  I don't know about anyone else but I think that the new jersey pictured in that Dispatch article looks great...for some other school.

RC-- You are off base, well,  just a little.  I may live in sunny FL, but that came after living in God's Country at the top of the UP in Houghton MI until I was 20 years of age.  I have seen more Grey skies and White snow than a fricken eskimo.  I do however, share your feelings about the colors  re: OSU.  2  brief years of my youth were at Michigan State living in Spartan Village.  I will always remeber the anticipation of that rivalry, and seeing the great Archie Griffin (sp)in those colors that should never change. I meant no offense to you Smuck Eye fans ;D

There's nothing wrong with the Spartans.  It's those punks in Ann Arbor that we dislike.  Four kids from my high school have had very productive years at Michigan State.  Two of them started for 6 years combined and one is the current starting running back.  The fourth is the starting power forward on the women's basketball team.  After OSU, MSU is my second favorite Big Ten team for that reason.

The article did make the point that the uniform had no gray in it during a couple of Woody's better years but the principle is the point in this case.  Like I said, the jerseys with the smaller stripes and no gray look just fine...for Indiana or Wisonsin or Nebraska, not THE Ohio State University.
