b4uknewit,

I didn't see Jr's name in the media guide but did see John Ivory.  Is Brian ok and did John come back from the leg injury last year?

Any news from Baldwin-Wallace?  I see that both the coaches and media picked them to finish in the middle of the pack.  Anybody to look out for? They play Augustana on Sept. 9.  From Augustana you can expect much of the same as ever.

What a game for insomniacs.

Noticed a couple oddities on the MUC JV schedule--twice they have games scheduled on Sun and the following Mon. Are they planning split squad games or do they expect one of the two teams to canx each weekend?
Also, they have what I thought was a high school on their schedule---Cincinnati Harmony.

You are correct Cincinnati Harmony is a High School. I tell you what though I saw them play my dad's team a few years ago and they did not look like normal high school kids. There were some big dudes on the team looked like men.

The season is almost here can't wait as I know all of you can't either.
Hope you guys all have a great year just like were expecting over here in the HCAC. It is going to be a very interesting year best of luck to all!

We had a lot of defensive ends to choose from and no real communication from ONU that Trusnik was coming back.

You could have gone to the ONUsports football page and seen his mugshot listed there as of June 30th when the announcement of preseason rankings came out.

That works if ONU is the only school we cover. I don't think we have time to go to 233 schools Web sites every two weeks. :)

Ohio Northern returns 35 lettermen and five starters under third-year head coach Dean Paul.

Bennett isn't on the roster on the ONU site, for what it's worth. Doesn't mean much since camp hasn't opened but it might be a leading indicator.

Its great to see everyone doing their homework. I'll try harder.

There is a guy who goes by the name of Deiter on Rover's Morning Glory (a radio talk show program) and played Defensive End for MUC a couple of years ago before going into radio, so my question is, what is Deiter's real name?  Just want to know because I am just curious as to how well he did in football at MUC?

Doesn't look familiar to me:
http://www.roverradio.com/Dieter

They list him as Dominic Dieter here:

Mount Union has played JV games against high school teams before. It makes for a good trivia question so I will pose it. What high school team did Mount Union once play in a JV game and lose to? Hint: you gotta go waaayyyyy back in time for the answer.

This guess is only based on them being as good or better recruiter than most colleges: Washington HS in Mass.

The stats on Dieter for the 2000 season show he played in 6 games and made 7 tackles, on for a loss of 8 yds and it appears it was a QB sack.

He was a member of the team. 11 as one as the Raiders are known.

Dominic Dieter was a hard worker,, did not complain about the lack of pt,,was on a few special teams, got in and did well when he did,,,a true Raider,,he was just behind some good players

JDEAN you are a winner! It was before my time but my uncles supposedly were there. As the story goes, not much went right for the JVs and little went wrong for the Tigers, Tempers flared and the game was never finished. the Tigers had a prohibitive lead so I guess they won. I would love to hear the Mount Union version if anybody witnessed the game.   (My uncles were always under the influence when they told the story...so the game got better as the beer got flowin.....) Kent State JVs played them once also so its not unprecedented for a college team to play a highschool team. Last years state champions could have beaten some of the teams in the OAC, they were very talented and well coached and very deep.

Hey OAC'ers

Over on the MIAC board we have a very esteemed poster celebrating a birthday. His name is Johnnie Red.

He is a St Johns grad (don't hold that against him) and has posted on our board on many occassions.

Great guy for MIAC and all D3 Football.

If you got a second you might send him some OAC love and drop a karma or two on the birthday boy.

WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

raiderguy

Where did everbody go??

Mounts' first practice?

No one since my last post yesterday!!!

And the season is officially started.
