Pan Pal?  Does this mean she will do dishes?   ;D

She probably meant to troll the NCAC/Basher room.  Those boys will probably fall for anything that has "female" attached to it.

I'm quite surprised this hasn't gotten any North Coast reaction yet.  They must be sleeping.

Any know when Mount's annual  purple/ white scrimmage is?

Football season is definitely near us...

My yahoo fantasy football team has been drafted.  Pick 'Ems is just around the corner.

D3football Kickoff Coverage will be out shortly.

I think I see the leaves starting to change as we speak...

Either of you guys hear anything about that d3 fantasy league for this season?  Seemed like a great gig and I know lots of work went into it last year.  I hope it comes back.

RC:  Haven't heard a word on the fantasy thing.  Sent Kid an e-mail a few weeks ago and nothing.  So I assume it's dead.  It was a blast last year, but we were constantly wondering what Kid could have been thinking to start such a thing because it must have taken him a ton of time to do it.  Especially with D3 stats not being as automated as the NFL.

While I, too, am anxious for fball season, I'm not ready to give up summer!

May the fballers have cool nights (and days) starting now, but may the rest of us have summer for at least 8 more weeks!  There's gotta be some way. ;)

[Did I mention that I just spent $12,000 on an RV - dammit, I want some quality time! ;D]

Seriously guys.  This is the second time I've seen the OAC page listed at the bottom of the North Region.  Are the regulars becoming shut-in's and avoiding communication with the outside world?

How about these questions since noone ever tackled my last prediction request:

Do you think OTT can take the next step and improve on last year's 7-3 season?

I think Stelzer might end up with Rocky-esque stats up in Westerville and may push Pentello as the best OAC QB in the metro Columbus area.  The Cards quietly had an impressive year last season and might sneak up on some teams this year.  Any thoughts???

Anyone notice that of the ten season openers only Capital and Muskingum have home games?  Who has the toughest road opener?  Will Wooster be able to take out the Blue Streaks?  Does Defiance give Otterbein a scare?  Does Monty beat up on Marietta?  Can Heidelberg break it's streak against Oberlin?

Will Brandon Hedges have enough support on the Baldwin Wallace offense to become B-W's all-time career rushing leader?  He needs 910 yards to break the B-W mark but only managed 517 last year.

And did anyone notice that Mike Jorris broke single-season OAC records last year for both passing yards and total offense?

Have no fear RC.  The OAC typically has a lot to talk about later in the season than most folks.  That's why you guys need a longer summer vacation.

I'll bite.

Otterbein won't improve on last year's 7-3 record.  Matching it would be a huge accomplishment in my opinion as MUC, ONU and Capital are all markedly better than Otters.  But we all know that upsets can happen, ala Cap last year.  So I would predict that Otter will be 6-3 with the JCU game being the one that determines 6-4 vs 7-3.

As far as tough openers, I would pick JCU/Wooster as the best match-up because Wooster is returning a lot and JCU will be breaking in a new QB.  Cap/Witt looks interesting on paper, but thats what I've thought the last couple years and Witt keeps getting blasted.  And with Cap coming off the great playoff run, I expect more of the same.

If healthy, Hedges should be able to get 917+ yards unless BW has completely fallen apart.  Overall, I think this season is a turning point for the Flaming Pile.  Another losing season and you can officially add BW to the bottom of the OAC like Musky and Wilma.  A 6-4 or 7-3 season could point to last year being an exception.

In terms of records, I absolutely hate that the NCAA now counts playoff games.  Plus factor in no bye in round 1 and today's players could potentially have 50% more games to beat the numbers put up a decade ago.  Can you say Dante Brown or Bill Borchert?

Did anyone see Mr. Kircus in a scuffle at Broncos camp on Sportscenter?

Any idea how he's looking in camp?

Whelp, since fall camp has opened and football is just around the bend, I wanted to remind everyone that we'll be starting our annual OAC Pick Em's Contest pretty soon.

As always, all are welcome to participate whether an OAC regular or not.  Just make sure you have your picks posted by noon on each Saturday, preferrably by Friday night.

Are you ready for some football? ;D

KIRASDAD- Jr. had a [near miss] too close to life ending battle with Renal Failure several months ago in Alliance. Within 72 hrs of being admitted into the new hospital in Alliance, he gained 35lbs of fluid in his 305lb. body. Fortunately, a specialist was on call who worked feverishly with doctors from the Cleveland Clinic and saved his life. Right now, we are just taking things month to month. I was confident he has fully recovered but a return (this season) is not in the plans. I remain optomistic for next year and God willing, we'll see. College football has been a significant part of our lives. We will be watching Mount as enthusiastically(sp) as ever and Jr. certainly will be continuing his education at MUC. As far as John Ivory (my other son)lol goes, we expect great effort from a healthy recovery and hope opportunities present themslves for John. He has a lot of love and support from all us of down here in Florida and I look forward to watching some great MUC football with his dad! Thanks for asking about the boys! Talk to you soon.  The Raiders are going to kick some Booty this year!!!

I didn't know anything about your crisis until now but I am encouraged by your report. I hope a full recovery is the diagonsis. Prayers to you and the family.

Looking forward to the Raiders having a stellar season and a Stagg Bowl in the near future(06). I will be keeping track of the MIAC again. They are a group that has every bit the passion of the OAC. Great fans and teams. St. Johns and Concordia will be the teams to watch again this year.
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

I was on vacation last week, so didn't get a lot of news/sports news.  However, I heard that Kircus did great in their preseason game, but admittedly I did not hear or know anything about a scuffle.  Certainly, 4u can update all of us on his cousin when 4u gets the chance as he has been hired as head fb coach at a high school just north of Ann Arbor.  Good luck to him in that as well as his cousin.  I hope Kircus gets a better opportunity than he was given at Detroit.

Also, to be4uknewit:  I also send prayer and support to your son, you and family regarding his recovery.  Like raiderguy and some of the others, I was not aware of his situation.  Keep the Faith.

I see where OSU is first in the AP poll preseason Div I.   Mt. Union first in Div. 3 poll.

Here we go again.
