Mount Union has an intersqad game today (Sunday) at 7:00 PM. On Saturday Aug.26 the Raiders scimmage W&J at home in the morning. No exact time was stated but the M-Club post game cookout is at 2:00 PM so I am assuming about 10 or 11AM.

Watching the Colts/Seahawks game I remembered Arth was no longer with Indy.  So I looked at the Packers box scores to see if he was getting any action for Green Bay but he was released back on July 26th.  It's unfortunate for him.  Also Indy's backup Jim Sorgi might have a serious arm/shoulder injury so it stinks a couple times over for Tom Arth.  He might have had a shot at some PT this preseason if he was still with the Colts.

Haven't studied the league enough to know, but any chance the Colts might sign him now since he is at least familiar with the system?

I know, a long shot that he would be considered for Sorgi's role.

The head coach I work for has asked all of us to take at least one weekend to take two or three of our players to a college football game.  I am serioulsy considering bringing three of my linemen to the Mount Union-Averett game.  I figure I can show them the best team in Division III and just how high of a level D3 actually is, and then when Capital beats them down the road I can tell them my alma mater is the best team in D3 and they should all go there. :)

Arth seems like a logical guy to at least get them through practices til another suitable back-up can be found or until Sorgi is healthy.

RC:  Haven't heard a word on the fantasy thing.  Sent Kid an e-mail a few weeks ago and nothing.  So I assume it's dead.  It was a blast last year, but we were constantly wondering what Kid could have been thinking to start such a thing because it must have taken him a ton of time to do it.  Especially with D3 stats not being as automated as the NFL.

Since kid is a recent newlywed. It may be the reason we haven't heard anything on the d3 fantasy league.

Read in the Rock Hill Herald today that the NY Jets are looking closely at who gets cut from the Panthers RB situation.  The Panthers beat writer says he expects Eric Shelton and/or Alex Haynes to get cut and looked at by the Jets.  Not sure if that means Robertson is probably safe to make the team or that he does not merit interest.  I think its the former as opposed to the latter. But I don't get tot follow the Panthers that often.

I also saw in the St. Pete Times today that the 49ers traded Kevin Barlow to the Jets for a 2007 Draft Pick:

Scroll down to the section titled "Trade".  Initially I thought that the Browns now know why Reuben Droughns flunked his physical.

That's what dreams are made of.

You got any extra of that tabackie you're smokin'?

You probably should stay away from the Averett game. Your boys will only want to go one place after that and it won't be C'town, unless they are OSU bound. LOL

I have heard the RB for Averett is pretty darn good. I think he was second in rushing in D3 last year? Should be interesting. Mount lost everybody on defense from last year I think.....???  so I hope they can contain him.

I'm planning on being in VA for the game, maybe we could get together for a beverage?

I went to the Mount Union scrimmage last night and I was impressed by the freshman QB. Had a strong arm and a high release. His long throws were pretty accurate too. Anybody got the lowdown on this guy? If he sticks around he might be another 3 year player ala Bill Borchert. Might be too soon to throw him in with the starters, but it might be interesting too. I got the impression that the back-ups best asset was his feet and not his arm.  Anybody agree...disagree?

Of the three guys I am thiking of bringing one is probably a I-AA guy with good grades, so we are thinking Elon, Furman, Wofford, Davidson, Hampton.  Might play his way into a big time offer though.  He is a 6-4, 265 lb LT who is very athletic.  Gained about 45 pounds in the last year and hasn't lost much athletic ability.  The other two are probalby D3 lineman.  6-2 235 and 6-1 250 lbs.   All three kids are juniors.

Was the freshman a true freshman or was it Greg Micheli who was considered a good prospect in last years class? He handled the punting duties in the later part of the season.

How else did the scrimmage look?
