Anyone going to the scrimmage today? Mount vs some team with dead presidents in their logo. Its a 10 to 10:30 am game for those who may have their yard work finshed already. Go Purple Routers....er..Raiders!

Pick-Em's will be posted on Monday a.m.
I planned on posting htme today, but forget to bring the list home with me from the office.

As expected, MUC completely dominated W&J in the scrimmage this morning.   ;D  For those that care, Robinson and Justin Wray are backing up Kmic at TB.

Just got back from the W&J scrim.  Mount's first team shutout W&J.  around 4-0.  The second team scored on the Mount 2nd team on a run from around 10 yards.   Kemic only played 10 plays or so. He scored on a 50-55 yard run.  Garson DNP. The D gave up 2 yards in the first 10 plays. The running backs  for this year appear to be the second best in last 11 years.  Moore and Dan P. no. 1.  but something very special, I will tell you that.  Many would start for other OAC teams.  With the first and second team everything that touched the receivers  hands was caught.  Jorris was a little off at thr start, but  improved with throws.  Overall they looked good.  I'm not sure how W&J is this year.  The D is the place where improvement  will help.    Here we go, get on board for another ride to the Stagg bowl.

Pretty interesting roster.

About 219 total players
19 from Florida?
119 Freshmen
Nobody is number 70 or 97 but I think the rest are covered.
6 are wearing #9

Aaron Robinson did not play defense in the W&J scrimmage today. Looks like hes a running back even if he has to split time. Looks like Mounts depth can wear about anybodys team down. If you play to take one of their starters out of the game, you better be pretty deep yourself. Mount Union looked a couple of weeks ahead of W&J today. I wouldnt be surprised if W&J pull it together and make a run for the playoffs. Also noted, cell phones make scouting quicker and easier. I listened to a guy analyzing each play and reporting it to whoever was on the other end. He wasnt talking to his nextdoor neighber either! Too much coach speak. I guess you gotta prepare early if you are gonna challenge for the title.

I know this isn't OAC related or even D-III but I just came across a video I think many of you guys would be interested in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ICL-Lgb7kk

It caught my eye because it's about former Buckeye lineman and current NY Jet Nick Mangold and his sister.  Nick went to high school at Kettering Alter (my alma mater's archrival).  I think Nick was a freshman when I was a h.s. senior so I'm not sure he played against me peronally but I have always had a hard time rooting for him as a Buckeye knowing his h.s.

His sister is a lineman (linewoman?) for the Knights and the NFL network did a story on her which is posted here.  She's listed as a 5'9" 290 lb junior and according to the video she is seeing the field as a second string guard.  Pretty wild stuff.  I knew of a female WR/K from McNicholas in Cincinnati when I was in high school but I can't ever recall a female lineman.  Anyways, just thought someone might appreciate it and have something to say in response.

Can the Averett game be heard on a webcast or radio station ? Mount Union needs a video dept. for those 10 hour drive away games.

You will probably be able to hear the game via Mount Union's Website (http://www.muc.edu/student_life/wrmu_91_1/wrmu_sports).  D3Football.com scoreboard page usually has a link to all webcasts.

It will be a formidable backfield.   Jorris, Kmic and Robinson.  Tough to key on one RB that way.

Yikes.  That's exactly why I hated to see girls in HS wrestling when I was in school.  They were never in the 105-126 lb classes ;D

Did you see the video hscoach?  I'll be honest and say she looks like an earth mover.  She's more effective (in drills and practice) than I would have expected.

I know that Jim Collins and the other offensive coaches were extremely excited about the crop of freshman RBs they had coming in this year.

I know Capital has an amazing strength and conditioning coach and saw amazing things when I was there in the spring.  I mean really really scary, ugly strength.  I gotta imagine the team speed has also increased, but I doubt there are any 4.2 guys.

Also I don't doubt the Mulkey/Playboy thing.  Last year he appeared in some teen girl magazine as the best looking man from Wyoming or South Dakota or some sparesely populated western state(he isn't really from either of those states, but teenage girls sdon't know wany better)

Considering the fastest recognized electronic time in the NFL combine history is Deion Sanders' 4.29 I'd have a hard time believing it too...  They say hand-timing adds almost .25 seconds so maybe if they are getting hand-timed and the coach has a quick finger at the finish line but otherwise I doubt any sub 4.4 times.
