Going back to the game in Columbus this weekend.  When in school, Wilmington was not in the OAC (long ago) and I thought they were NAIA long ago.  Nonetheless, are these guys as bad as everything that I read?  Blow-out in the making?

Somebody is peddling Mike Hallet's 1992 OAC Champs ring on Ebay. Guess he liked the 1993 one better ::) For only $399.00 you can have the biggest ring in your neighborhood.

Wilmington joined the OAC about 9 years ago.  I believe they were NAIA prior to moving to NCAA DIII.  Interesting fact:  Jim Ballard played at Wilmington before transferring to Mount Union in 1991.

I think 2000 was their first year in the OAC.  Not quite 9 years.

I checked Ric's site and last year was the 9th meeting between Mount Union and Wilmington.

I just assumed that was the year they joined the OAC.  I guess there could have been some Non-Conf. Games before they joined the conference.

Yep, just checked the OAC Media guide and they have been in conference since 2000.

Wilmington was brought into the league to replace Hiram when Hiram moved to the NCAC.

What is the only current OAC school that Mt Union does not enjoy a winning record?

I remember having some "discussions" in here last year concerning OTT.  Some were tauting the great progress OTT had made over the last few years, and were even calling them an "upper level OAC echelon" team.  It doesn't appear that they have made another positive step this year as of yet.  Anyone have any insight as to what OTT is, and isn't?

Oh, and if Wabash and Linfield both start the season 0-2, does that officially end their claim to ongoing "greatness"?   ;D

(I know...I know...I will get pounded kharma-wise from the Bash faithful for that one.....I just can't help it.)

Bit of useless info.  Wilmington was part of the HCAC conference till 1999 5-1  9-1.  Both them & Wabash departed after that season & now DC 2000 & Rose Hulman 2006 have taken their places.

I checked the Wilmington Media Guide and MTU and WC met in 1968, 1969, and 2000-2005.  That makes the 8 games played.

Also saw Ballard's name on the Single Season Records for his year there in 1990.

since the NCAC board is closed, i have a question for D3 fans...what is the track record/experience of a player transferring to a D1 program not just for football but for the school itself...just curious...
