BTW, what part of Arizona did you settle in? Hard to beleive a Polar Bear could exist in that arid climate!!  ;D congrats on the move!

Living in Chandler, Arizona (Phoenix Metro) and so far so good.  It's hot here but not nearly the humidity we are all used to in Ohio. We'll see how this Polar Bear does when the summer rolls in next year.

Welcome pmv - nice to have a fellow blue and white fan.  Nice to see someone who isn't purple on board (no offense cap or mt)

None taken by this non-purple poster.  There are a couple of us non-purples on here all the time.

Always remember it is a "dry heat"!

So it really isn't 110 degrees out there even if the thermometer says so!

Is that the same as dry heaves? Your really not puking?

Just keep a cold one close by and that Polar Bear will do just fine.

Congratulations on the successful move. Any good moving stories to share?
WELCOME TO THE MACHINE!

Any transfers starting at OAC schools this year?

I read a quote attributed to Ashland U coach saying transfers can help get a program over the top and referenced Mt Union.  Woolf,  Ballard and Kern stick out in my mind as good ones in the past.  Garcon was a nice pickup too.

Not this topic again.  It is so tired.

Just one time I'd like to have a list of the transfers out, you know the kids who discover they may not play till years 4 or 5, if ever and go off to Malone or Walsh. I'm sure it is a great deal longer than the transfers in 8)

Nothing wrong this transfers in my mind.... Meadows was a good one for ONU last year.... Just wondering if there are any good ones to look for this year.

I saw that Wilmington's media guide mentions a QB transfer, Dustin Strayer as a player to watch.  Made me wonder if Muskingum's QB, Andre Nash, was a transfer, didn't see him in any stats for '05.

Well how often did Musky throw the ball last year.  I think they attempted one pass against Mount last year.  So if he was the backup QB last year I doubt there would be any statistical reference to him.
The impossible CAN happen and eventually it WILL happen.

Reality Check... I am a JCU grad... lived in Chandler for 9 years before returning to Pittsburgh 4 years ago.  I taught and coached HS Football there.  Loved living there, but teachers don't get paid much in AZ.  Houses are about twice as expensive as wester PA too.  But it is a pretty nice place to live, especially when you are golfing in January.

Well there is still work to do.  The moving truck arrives today.  I will say that is the way to go though.  We just hopped in the car and drove out comfortably while the truck came via frieght service on it's own time.

I could not believe though that we drove 2600 total miles and I saw less wildlife than I typically do on my way to work in Connecticut.  New Mexico was the worst state but we drove through on 9-11 and every little town had all their rescue and fire vehicles flashing all lights and banners supporting the fallen fire/rescue from the WTC attacks.  It was quite a spectacle because you could see each overpass exit from miles away and when you got up to each bridge, the firefighters and EMT's were waving the flag and waving to passers-by.  I thought it was a cool gesture since it spanned across the state.

Thanks for the info.  I am actually looking into getting into coaching high school football out here and possibly teaching.  We came west for a great job for my wife so I just want to make sure I am happy doing whatever I end up doing whether the pay stinks or not.  Shoot me an email about where you coached out here.  I'm just curious.

I had checked rushing stats too, so the mystery continues.

Andre Nash was a Div V. Honerable Mention All State Player for Cleveland Central Catholic in 2004.

Muskingum's Media Guide lists him as a Sophmore and has his picture with the returning players and doesn't have him listed as a Newcomer:
http://www.muskingum.edu/home/athletics/football/mediaguide.pdf

I assume he was probably 2nd or 3rd on the Depth Chart last year and just didn't play, but I don't have any facts to back that up.  He wasn't listed as one of the players highlighted on Offense in the Media Guide so he may have been a "Fall Surprise" for them and stepped up his play as a SO.

So I am looking for information on the Musky QB and run across their Intramural Website.  I am supposed to be working, but it is Friday afternoon and I have nothing pressing to do so I start looking at the team names of their Flag Football league.  The team names were pretting boring till I came to the ninth team on the list:

http://fates.cns.muskingum.edu/home/intramurals/flagfooball/rosters.html

I can't believe the school would let them name their team the "Butt Pirates"!  LOL

Re:D3's comment on Meadows as a transfer to ONU.....Meadows originally decided not to play football in college (I think he attended Middle Tennessee State).  Anyway, after his freshman year he decided he missed playing football.  He tracked down the assistant coach at Wooster who had recruited him a couple of years earlier, and that coach had moved to ONU.  He traveled to Ohio to visit ONU and Wooster, but after his stop at ONU he decided he had found a football "home".  So Meadows was never a part of a college football program until he enrolled at ONU.
