Speaking of Championship Rings...

Former MUCer Mike Hallet's ('92 OAC Championship) ring was listed for sale on EBAY last week...and was discovered to have been stolen from Mike prior to the end of the auction.  The seller graciously returned the item to Mike and is in current pursuit of the person who sold it to him.

Great job pulling together all the stats.

One funny error of note on the NCAA site you linked to...
Under "NCAA Passing Efficiency" they've listed Rocky Pentello (11th overall) as a Freshman.

See...maybe he will never leave Capital after all. ;D

Thanks. RE: Rocky,  he played his four years and now he gets to start over again. :)

OU#25 – Thanks for that update on Hallet's ring.  It was actually a relief to know it was stolen, as the other possibilities for how it got separated from Mike were worse to imagine.

I wonder if Lee  Owens would bring his eagles over to Mt. for an opening season game?   That would be an interesting contest.   Esp. with all the div I transfers Owens has attracted. ::)

I was actually thinking the same thing...

Jorris's QB efficiency rating after two games (272)..not to shabby.  Will Union play anyone with outstanding pass defenses in the near future?

Union plays against teams like Hobart, RPI and Worcester Polytech.  I'm not sure if they face a tremendous pass defense but they typically run the hell out of the ball anyways behind Tom Arcidiacono.

By the way, what does Jorris' pass efficiency have to do with the Union Dutchmen?

Nice update OU #25. It was good to know the ring wasn't on there because of a hardship or loss of interest.

If the person who gave it back is ever identified he deserves a vote of thanks from Raider faithful for his kindness. I would hope he does not suffer any loss because of it.  I would also hope the seller (thief) might end up with a permanent limp or a boyfriend named Bubba!

A match up between Mount and Ashland would make a very interesting opener.  I wonder though if it would be a good thing for Ashland? Both these teams recruit the same players, and Owens has said in the past that he has lost players to Mount Union despite the fact that Ashland was offering money and Mount was not.  If Ashland were to lose a game like this it would make recruiting that much more difficult.  Would it be worth the risk for Ashland?

KennethK – RC is pointing out that the college in Alliance, Ohio where Mr. Jorris plays is Mount Union, or Mount, or MUC, or The Raiders, or even on rare occasion, The Grand Old College,  but never Union. ;D

Thanks for the correction...Mount it is.  Any pro scouts looking at Jorris?

Uh, NO.

Mike's having a nice career at MUC, but he isn't even the best QB in the OAC right now.  Might even have a debate whether he's the #2 QB in the league.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Clearly, in Your humble opinion because I feel he has more pro attributes than the guys you think are in front of him ;)

BTW That reminds me, congratulations to Jim Ballard on his upcoming induction into the Summit County Athletic Hall of Fame   Akron Beacon Journal Article

Some of Garcon's teammates shared with me that they thought he would have a reasonable chance to play at the next level after his days at Mount Union.

Scouts at mount games are more than likley watching Garcon and not the guy throwing him the ball.

Garcon, now there is a player.  While I cannot help but admire his speed, grace, and pass catching ability, what really impresses me is his play when he doesn't get the ball.  That guy is always looking for someone to hit!  Maybe he should have been a linebacker.   :D
