Crusader26:

I would say Jorris has not thrown a 70 yard pass in the air during a game because...he doen't have to do it.

Garcon and other receivers are open much sooner down the field than 70 yards from scrimmage and as you know the job of the QB is to make quick reads and distribute the ball downfield  based on timing.  Also to throw the ball 70 yards you need to stand in the pocket for 6 seconds plus in order for a receiver to be downfield to receive the ball. I don't know any college or pro programs that run routes based upon that extreme distance other than a hail mary.

I'm just providing an accurate report of what I've seen in a t-shirt and shorts.

21-0 Mount early in the first quarter.

Muskingum only has two feet to shoot themselves in, so by the way it sounds, they have already blown those away, along with two shins, and are working on the knee-caps.  I don't plan to stick around for when they start taking aim at their own groin ... will not be pretty.

Lots of back-ups in the game already and the 1st quarter is not over yet.
Could be a new single-quarter points record for D3.

It is a school record. 42-0 Mount still in the first quarter.

Yup!  42 points in the first quarter.  Defiance is out of the record books now.

I think I will join reality check at the ONU-JCU broadcast now.

reality check

13:11 left in the first quarter and it's already 9-6 at JCU.

I missed the first 30 seconds and all I know is JCU scored a TD in no time off an ONU fumble on the kick.  ONU blocked the kick and returned the XP for 2 points.

Meadows just broke a 60 yarder for a TD and that brings us to our CONVENTIONAL score.

reality check

JCU marches down the field but stalls at the 7 yard line and settles for 3 points.

Steve Gunter returns the kick to the JCU 8 yard line.

Quirk keeps it for an 8 yard run and we have a 16-9 score with 8 minutes left in the first.

Apparently the OAC is trying to break first quarter scoring records today across the board.

Uh Oh.  Better put in the 3rd string now or we will run up the score again...

Don't sub too many too soon - MUC hasn't covered hscoach's line yet! ;D

Wow! MUC scores 62, Jorris only throws 5 passes and Garcon only has 2 catches. I listened to the game and Mr. Easterbrook could not have been more wrong. The only thing Mount did not do was just give the ball back to the Muskies. That score could have EASILY been over 100.

reality check

23-9 Polar Bears win.  Almost as importantly, ONU missed HSCoach's spred by .5 point and I guessed right for a change.

Sloppy game with almost all the scoring coming in the first 7 minutes.  Meadows scores another 2 TD's and leads the Bears offense.
