Newbie poster yes, however a 5 year reader. I couldn't let this one go with out saying anything. Thanks for pulling me out of my shell

That is all it took to pull you out of your shell?  Well, I wonder how many lurkers will finally post if I say something like "Trusnik wears dresses" or "Meadows is the second best back in the OAC"?   ;)

Speaking of Meadows.  I thought I read somewhere that he helped recruit a new RB to ONU this year who may be better than Meadows himself.  I thought this new RB was from TN as well, but I don't see any other players from TN on the ONU roster.  Am I mistaken or was this recruit from another state?

Don't mean a thing without the ring...Jorris is up 1-0. Isn't that what it's all about? Isn't that what they play for? And if you don't have the supporting cast on both sides of the ball you go home early.

By the way seeing Rocky P. and Jorris play there is no comparison.
I don't think Pierre Garcon would have to jog his deep post routes in fear of being under thrown if rocky was under center.

And yet last year with horses like Howes, Stencil, Kraft and Rankin, he couldn't get it done twice against Mount and once against Otterbien, so I guess there is no comparison :P

I do not believe there is a comparison between Pentello and Joris... You can wins games but not be the greatest Qb... I may take a hit by saying this but, lets take a look at Tom Brady Vs. Dan Marino... Tom Brady won a Super Bowl, but is he really a better Qb NO WAY.... Has Joris won a National Championship yes... If you compare arm strength and accuracy.. Pentello takes the cake

DOn't know how many of you saw the Mount game last saturday, but after the hit leveled by Jorris on a turnover, some might consider him a defensive back, lol! Have to admit, it was awesome!

Mount Union #1, Capital #3 and Ohio Northern #10 in the new D3Football.com Top 25. With apologies to Northern wouldn't it be something if Whitewater stumbled and Mount Union and Capital did not and the top two teams in the country squared off in Alliance on October 28th?

Ric,
this would be awefully nice and obviously alot of ball games before that matchup, but U-WlaCrosse vs U-WW  Oct 14th could prove to be a interesting match up. Game being played at Whitewater.

The best QB, hard to say.  All I know is that in my opinion Jorris was the most valuable player in last years championship game.  He produced when it really counted.  I had my doubts about how he would react.  He made me a believer  about having the right stuff when the team needed him.

Two comments...in regards to your post...

First, if Garcon or any other wide receivers are jogging on your defensive backs and still making plays then you have issues with your defense and will be led to the woodshed...no matter whether you have Pentello or Elway at QB.

Second, I'm not sure who has convinced all the other schools in the OAC that Jorris is weak armed...but I hope teams keep thinking that this season.  Additionally...completion percentage, TD to Int ratio and YPC are generally factors that defenses should be concerned with and I don't see Jorris lacking here unless I'm missing something.

I'm Looking forward to the home matchups during the month of October.

He's listed right there on the freshman roster as number 6 (also Meadows' number).  His name is Ricky Ladd and he was the small-school Mr. Tennessee football last year for White House HS.  I don't know how he's doing on the depth charts but Meadows has been a one-man wrecking crew so he hasn't needed to do too much for the running attack to fire on all cylinders.

I see you rembered......every day? (your message line)

I am sure I will be green with envy about January.

How are the new digs?

I saw Whitworth play UW Stout Saturday. Heartbreaker for Stout. Had Whitworth beat with 1:45 to play. That was the problem...the 1:45 was enough to get to OT and Stout suffered from wide right 'itis in the kicking game. Whitworth wins on and extra point in the second OT!

Not that I'm a Cap fan, but how many times can another team say this?

Capital has the longest OAC winning streak going at nine games.

So many comments in the past few days - where shall I begin? In the epic Jorris vs. Pentello battle - I have to take Jorris. Head to head Jorris is 2-0, and he has both the OAC and National Championship rings. The problem Jorris has is the QB's he is compared to at Mount - Ballard, Borchert, Smeck and Adamson. I know someone else mentioned that as well - but it is worth echoing. Does Jorris have a better cast - hell yes. And that helps a great deal - but HE still has to deliver the ball which he has done very well.

Jason Trusnik - I don't know if he wears dresses, but the injury last year meant he could not wear his high heels for a few weeks. Rumor had it that he switched to the pant suit Hillary Clinton has made so famous.

RJ Bowers is a bruiser - and he is the SECOND best back in the OAC. Roll Kmic ~ Roll!
