Mr. Ypsi

Sorry, raiderguy, didn't realize that the mere possibility of considering pool C would be such an insult! ;D  (SOMEDAY it will happen!)

Hope your nose survived the encounter with the ceiling fan! ;)

I don't think Mt. Union would mind playing a higher level team, but I think the D2 or D1AA school may not want to.  Based on the fact they may loose, it would be hard for a D2 D1AA team to play Mt. Union, Capital, or Ohio Northern.  Eventhough Dayton is a non-scholarship D1 school, I bet they sweat every year when they play Witt b/c Murray usually rushes for 200 yards and Witt gives them all they can handle!!  I doubt Dayton would schedule an OAC team to play??

I think the problem with MUC scheduling up is not that Mount has not tried but rather that other teams are not as willing, have more to lose. If a DII or D1AA team beats Mount, they should have the are D1aa or have scholarship players as in the case of DII. However, if they lose then have now lost to a DIII team and may have hurt their own playoff chances not to mention recruiting possibilities.

hscoach,
Just read the heated dialogue between 70's and yourself.  70's respects LK and loves MTU as much as anyone.  Sometimes his dry wit might come off a bit sardonic, but I'm sure he meant no harm.

Dayton has scheduled and played ONU in recent years so that question is moot.

There's not much for a DII or I-AA team to gain by playing Mount or anyone in DIII for that matter.  It's like asking why D-I high school teams in Ohio would rather play other D-I teams rather than playing A D-III or IV team nearby.  The smaller school has everything to gain if they win and the loss hurts the small school much less.

(Sure wish I was listening to ONU beat OTT right about now...)

The Muskies website has them losing to Wilmington 20-0.

The ONU site says their game with Ott is rescheduled for 2:30 tomorrow.

Looks like Mount's game will be played in rain.

jdean

The Mount website says the kickoff has been delayed due to lightning and inclement weather. The weather channel has this front extending west 100 miles. There is no rain at this moment but the sky is as black as shoe polish with claps of thunder every few minutes.

BillyRayJimBob

According to the JCU broadcast, the B-W-JCU game just went into a holding pattern due to weather, with B-W up 10-0 ... I think that's the score.

Just checked Intellicast.com weather radar, and it don't look pretty throughout Ohio this evening.  According to jdean's description, my Dad would have said that the "skies look ominous!"

MUC WRMU broadcasters sound a bit negative ... don't know if the game will even get to be played tonight.

BillyRayJimBob

88 degrees and beautiful, sunny skies here in Bossier City-Shreveport by the way.  That is about the only thing that "Lousy-ana" has going for it at the moment!

Mount - Berg Postponed until 2:30 tomorrow.

Mr. Ypsi

And speaking of 'postponed until 2:30 tomorrow', I don't think anyone anticipated that the ONU-Ott game would be rescheduled so soon (can they really assure that no one is a meningitis carrier that quickly?).

hscoach (and interested pickers), how should the pickems be handled for that game?  Since some later pickers omitted it, it would seem unfair to include it, but it would also be unfair for those picking it correctly to lose out (and a free bonus to those who picked it wrong).

May I suggest that anyone originally omitting it make a new pick for just that game before 2:30 tomorrow - seem the best solution?

Mr. Ypsi

Any update on BW-JCU?  Has it also been stormed out?

BillyRayJimBob

There was about an hour delay in the 2nd Quarter, with B-W up 10-0.  Last I heard (running between the computer room and the living room ... watching the Buckeyes), play resumed and B-W was up 17-0.

delayed an hour...now into the 3rd qtr.  17-0 BW

B-W over JCU 24-0 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
