Mount's defense has given up five touchdowns to the opposition this season.

If you want to get technical the defense has scored three touchdowns (2 INT and 1 fumble).  There have also been two fumble returns by the special teams, once on a botched punt recovered in the enzone and once on a kickoff return.  I suppose you could count those as defensive TDs which would bring the grand total to five defensive TDs.
The impossible CAN happen and eventually it WILL happen.

It has come to my attention that WRMU's internet broadcast was down for this past weekend's game.  As a student of Mount Union and a member of WRMU, I would like to apologize for the inconvenience for all those who wanted to listen.   I can assure you will be able to listen to this weekend's game vs. BW on the internet as well as on WRMU 91.1 FM in the Alliance area.  Once again I apologize on behalf of WRMU for the inconvenience and I also want to thank everybody that does listen.

Thanks, I also had problems the previous week during the ONU game.

Indeed. If you look at the past 5+ years you don't see any true MUC-BW blowouts (except maybe the 24-0 one), whether or not MUC was dominant or extremely dominant (like this year). you'd have to go back to 2000 for a blowout, a year where B-W played worse then their record.
I really want to see this game firsthand, but it's still up in the air whether I will be able to.

the 2000 bw team was probably filled with more talent than any bw team ive seen personally(Basik, Barwidi, Caine, Hunt, Ovendorf, Price, Caldwell just to name a few), but they weren't a good "team".  mount was so technically sound it was like watching a D1 team playing a high school team.  since then, you could arguably say that bw hasnt had the talent of that squad, but played much better as a team, especially when Snell took over.  since 2000, there really havent been any blowouts, i dont know if that is just Kehres being respectful or bw hanging tough.  either way, i dont expect bw to win, but just another slow low scoring game as always.

For everyones amusement:   Over on JJHUDDLEs site there is someone advocating that Ohio State schedule Mount Union in a football game. His reasoning is that they are already scheduling instate walkovers for the purpose of keeping the cash that these games generate within state borders. This guy claims that its Mounts turn and it would be no worse that what we've seen this year with other Ohio teams. They also say that the precedent was set in the earlier part of the century because they played 4 times already. Another topic claims the only team outside D3 that Mount could beat is Dayton, and anyone else would be suicide. THE GAUNTLET HAS BEEN THROWN DOWN!  ;D The Raiders have more championships...make them come to US. ;) ;D :o ::) ;D

For some real fun check out the video called PHOTOSYNTHESIS on UTUBE. Its Jim Tressel teaching biology with a football twist. Very clever.

Take OSU out of those big stadiums and large crowds along with the cameras and they're nothing! Come to Mount and the Buckeyes are toast!  ;D

Interesting concept. OSU v. MUC will probably never happen (at least not anytime soon) though I do think MUC would be able to hang against and possible beat many of the MAC teams I'd say. Heck I think one of the MAc teams SHOULD shedule Mount Union. If Montana State (i think that was them) could beat Colorado then it's possible, eve though it was DI-AA. MUC vs. Dayton would also be a good idea.

Ah, this is bad.

I saw the starting B-W QB around campus with crutches, so apparently he's out. Maybe the MUC-BW game will be a blowout...

HS Coach

I couldn't agree more.  I have only seen Trusnik play twice and neither time has he had ANY impact on the game.  If I heard correctly, he was credited with zero tackles.........I was talking about this earlier today and I know you can game plan around him (ie. run away from him, double him, 3 step drops), but come on, ZERO tackles, that does not sound like a POY or someone who many D3 fans could play at the next level.  If you can't make plays against the OAC's best, the next level is out of the question.

As far as the CU defense is concerned, they have tons of great players, but their best candidate for POY (Kyle Hausler) has been out for the past 5 games with a foot injury.  He is a game changer and could have been POY the past two seasons.  He is everywhere on the field when healthy.  He is great against the run and is CU's all-time leader in picks.  The DTs (McKenzie, O'Malley, and Springs) are probably the league's best trio.  The ends are quick and have never ending motors.  Andriaco and Abdullah are second to none at LB and the secondary, even without Kyle is outstanding.  Thom Hausler and CJ Steele (Kyle's replacement) are very good safties, and Coleman and Starks may easily be the best pair of corners in the league.  Add in McDonough at CB and Hessel as a 3rd down specialist and the talent and depth is definitely there.  But they are more of a defense by committee w/o Kyle and have many great great players but really no POY numbers.

That being said it was a terrific team effort against ONU and they will need more of the same against OTT and ultimately Mount.  They do have a knack for forcing turnovers when they appear to have there back's against the wall.  Hopefully that will continue because they have had some problems on 3rd downs.

As good as Mount Union is, they would not beat a MAC team.  Ok, maybe Buffalo, or next year's entry, Temple.

kirasdad,  I agree with you.  MUC would not beat any MAC team.  Is Temple going to the MAC?  We don't get a lot of MAC coverage down here.  :)

Give Cap's O-line a lot of credit, one sack against, and it was not Trusnik.  Pershing is playing great at tackle and is a first team all OAC in the making, but no tackles at all from the POY, that has to be a misprint.

All I know is this, Trusnik wins POY in 2004 and then misses all 2005.  But ONU upsets Mount 21-14 WITHOUT him.  Then he comes back in 2006 and they get beat 49-7!!!!  I know it is a team game and there was a lot going right for ONU last year, but they still only gave up 14 points WITHOUT him.  They gave up 49 points with him!!!!!  And a week later he has no tackles against Cap.  Sorry, I'm with you HS Coach, I expect a LITTLE more from the POY.

Hi guys, I'm new to the board.  Glad to be here.

I'm a loyal Mount Union fan (have been attending games for more than six years now) and I usually am able to attend all of the games.  However, I will not be able to attend the BW game due to a family matter.  I know there are some loyal Raider fans reading this board, and since the WRMU website isn't working right now, I might check out WDPN this weekend for my Raider fix.

What do you guys usually listen to?  WDPN or WRMU?  Which is the better broadcast?   Any insight you could share would be much appreciated.

GO RAIDERS!!!

Yep.  They start officially being a MAC East member next year:

Also, I think MUC would have a hard time against even the worst MAC teams.  Scholorship players at the DI level are just that much taller, stronger, faster, etc.  Even though some would like to see a MUC vs. MAC team.  It is always good to measure yourself against "better" competition.  A game against Youngstown State or Ashland would be interesting to see.

MUC vs. OSU for the real National Championship! I'll take MUC all the way  ;D!

Seriously though, I think Mount could challenge Akron or some other MAC teams. Would they win - I don't think so. However, I would not bet against them. I don't think Ashland would schedule them. Did'nt Lee Owens at Ashland talk about the risk in an article last year? It was about Mount's streak of OAC wins. I'll have to google it. Point is Ashland has a lot to lose in that they might lose. The Ashland JV did not fare too well nor did Robert Morris.
